"Love it! My 1st Samsung product. I got it couple months ago, ever since me and my wife are using it everyday. Great features, 3D, Wi-Fi, Internet Browser and SmartHub! **Capable of installing 3rd party apps. In my opinion beats competition. I own a different brand "Smart" unit and it has more restrictions than my Samsung BD-E6500. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who's in the marked for a "Smart" device. Great look, very slim which makes it a nice fit into my TV stand, not bulky at all."
Pros: Lightweight, size look 3d wi-fi full i.b. smart hub.
Cons: no backlit remote no smart keyboard.

"Be sure to pair this device with your wireless keyboard and mouse, and your viewing possibilities are unlimited! While it is not quite as quick as my computer, the three days my computer was down, I was able to utilize the web browser to handle all my e-mail and surfing needs!! And the quality of the videos played is incredible! Score another 5 stars for Samsung!!"

"I've owned various brands of Blu-Ray players and by far Samsung has the best product on the market. The internet interface is clear, concise and easy to understand. The wiFi always works well. The disc load quickly and the 3D features work great with my Samsung TV. You may have to spend an extra $20 for Samsung products with similar features as competitor products but for me it's well worth it!"

"We recently purchased a Samsung 55" Class (54.6" Diag.) LED 8000 Series Smart TV which had lots of cool features. Unfortunately, we did not poses a Blu-ray Disc Player that could play 3D movies.
This led us to buy this Blu-ray Disc player and let me tell you it was an AMAZING decision!!!
The start-up is super fast and so far we have been able to play every blu-ray disc movie we have tried.
*Our previous player had recently been unable to play the newer Blu-ray discs being released.
The built in wireless capability was extremely easy to setup.
We love that the player will automatically update itself while in standby mode, if its connected to the internet. Now when we want to watch a movie we are ready to go AND have access to all the features. Gone are the days of waiting for a update to download and install before being able to fully enjoy our movie and additional content.
Lastly, if you don't have a TV with Smart HUB capabilities you will love this feature on the Blu-ray disc player. With Smart Hub you will get access to tons of aps that can be ran from your Blu-ray disc player. Most notably for us is the Netflix and Amazon Instant Video streaming. Although they do have other aps like Hulu Plus, YouTube, HBO Go ect. You literally can have every movie streaming capability you could want in one device.
So clean-up your entertainment center and use this 1 device to meet all your video streaming and movie watching needs.!!!"

"combined this sweet component with a 6500 seriies smart tv i felt like i was at the movies, the picture did not disappoint, what i was pleasantly surprised with was the sound this player produced when hooked up to my home sound system. it is amazing."

"Title says it all. This device is Outstanding without exception. You can wireless stream ANY content either from your home network or outside, such as Netflix, Vudu, etc... flawlessly.
It works so well I bought 3 of them for each of the bedrooms.
Don't have a Smart TV yet, this will take care of it for you and provide all of the same features at a fraction of the price!"

"When I purchase this product I wanted a player that would enhance my dvd collection as well as my bluray veiwing. This player does it all. Only draw back is that when loging on to web sites the pointer is a bit choppy and slow maybe if one could add a wireless board when surfuring the web it would be a bit more responsive. Over all this unit is a excellent buy."

"This is my first blu-ray player, so I really can't give an acurate expectation. I feel there are some issues with performance, but nothing I can measure against other products. Generally, a good product. I do enjoy the features like netflix, etc. A little disappointed with the length of time it takes to load a movie or the smarthub software."

"if you enjoy burning your movies to DVD ROMs for your personal enjoyment, then this product might not be what you are looking for. It displays the message "format not supported" most of the time. I played one of the DVDs i burnt with my PC once and it has never played it again"

"The disk to digital feature from the player does not work. this is one of the main reasons I bought this player. In CinemaNow my movies do not show up. The Vudu App works flawless. Watched a bunch of my movies through Vudu. No paues or buffering. I can not say the same for netflix. Love the two HDMI inputs. love the slot loading disk.Disk playback is excellent.Nice asortment of apps and can be used as a hot spot"

"A MAJOR flaw is after I did the "initial set-up" and update of the software. I was able to access the internet features but I couldn't use the main feature, the DVD player. I put a disc in and it said "No Disc". I called Samsung support and they helped me fix it. I had to do a "hard reboot" (hold the play & stop button at the same time). How the heck was to know how to do this, let alone know to do it without calling them. I love Samsung products but I don't think I would recommend this one."
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: remote, software updates(having to hard reboot)
I would recommend this to a friend!

"when a dvd is inserted the player immediately starts to play content from web including movie previews, etc. why can i just not insert a disc and play the movie. one star on features is for this nuisance where I eventually just turn off my router so player will just play the movie without trying to sell me something. picture quality is great."

Cons: unwanted network trash

"The Netflix App in this Blue Ray Player (BD-E6500) is not working. I am not able to stream movies, some times work for a few minutes and then stop.I will not recommend this product to a friend, however is you play DVD'S the picture amazing."

"The player will not play 3D movies. From the research i did it has something to do with a recent software push and has not been resolved. The player performs as advertised up to the point when "play movie" is selected, at that point it locks up and nothing diplays on the TV screen..."

"This player was part of a package deal. I'm glad they threw it in. When it plays it plays well, but it is very quirky. For eg. if I turn on captions through the disc menu there is considerable drop out of sound, whereas if I choose captions through the tools menu sound is fine. Sometimes when I stop playing a disc before its over, when I return to it - and the player asks if I want to resume playback and I say yes, then sound is sporadic and the picture has static. Yesterday, I could not return to the disc at all - I turned off the power, rebooted everything - no picture, no sound. I turned everything off and disconnected the player and then reconnected it and put in a different disc and after about 30 minutes of trying variations on this, it finally worked. Really can't say that the player works well, because, as I said, it is very quirky."

"I like how the player is compatible with my TV, but I have purchased a total of three 3-D titles and they all do the same thing, plays preview movies and menu screen, when the movie starts the player goes to a black screen and lockup. I have call 3 movies that I had purchased and can’t play in 3-D. What a waste of money, while waiting 3+ months for an update."

"Couldn't get the remote to work more than 18 inches from the unit and directly in front of the sensor. Even at 18 inches, response of the unit was incredibly slow, like 30 seconds or more. Samsung technician on online chat kept sending me like to pages from the manual that I had already read and wanted to send me a new remote in 5-14 days. Some Christmas gift to my family."

"Set up unit on wireless and streamed fine. Tried to insert a Blu-Ray disk and it was difficult but went in and watched movie. Tried to eject and that was not going to happen. Took unit back for Geek Squad to remove disk and exchanged for another unit, see most recent registration and rating. Fingers crossed that new unit performs well."

"Played discs, but I didn't buy it for that, my old player worked fine for that. This machine would not do any of "Hub" functions, but would go to error message as soon as "hub" was started. No internet movies etc, which were streaming off my router fine. 5 hours with 4 people in chat could not figure out the problem. I returned it no problem, bought similiar product by other manufacturer,which worked fine,(with my Samsung TV)."

"The player worked fine for about the first few months but now each time I try to go to netflixs and pick a title it comes up with the error unable to play title now try later...WellI keep trying and each and every time I get the same message. What's bad is one of the only reason I picked this player was I was told it had Netflix and we got rid of cable. And I've tried calling the help line and heard from them a week later didn't get to my phone in time called right back and still haven't heard from them again......Should of bought one of those 50.00 gadget that's just for netflix and Hulu plus would of saved me some money......."
