"I have only had my Samsung dishwasher for about a month, so I do not know what my long term opinion might be. This is a very beautiful dishwasher with high tech controls and many different cycles and options. It's going to take me a long time to get familiar with everything. So far, however, it does a great job cleaning the dishes. The first time I used it, it was so quiet that I had to press my ear next to it to tell if it was working. My old dishwasher was so loud that I could not even talk on the phone in the next room while it was running. So far, I am impressed."

"Dishwasher operation very quiet. You can adjust the height of he upper rack in your samsung dishwasher so that the lower rack will accommodate larger sized dishes. This dishwasher has a half load cycle that is great when only washing a small load from bottom rack only. Storm wash cycle is very helpful when you have very dirty , hard to clean dishes. It has great cleaning power. Your home water heater must be at a 120 F to clean dishes. Love quick + cycle for lighly soiled dishes. Awesome smart auto cycle that detects the level of soil and automatically sets optimal cycle."

"This very quiet dishwasher is excellent at getting dishes clean. Efficient use of time and water especially when you use the auto setting for washing time, etc.

"We just recently got rid of our appliances that came with the house (built in 99) and we just didn't know what we were missing. Plus they were white and so hard to clean! Our old one was so loud that we didn't run it until we went to bed. We can actually watch a movie while it is running and it is very quiet. We were told that the lower the decibel number, the more quiet it is. I believe this one is a 48"

"We replaced an 11 year old dishwasher. This is a fantastic dishwasher. It is super quiet and cleans the dishes very well, no matter how much or how old the food is when I start the washer. Just make sure you always have plenty of Jet Dry at all times. While yes, it does take a while for the wash cycle, it is only because the of the newer water conservation standards. The only thing you should watch out for is accidentally hitting the power on button and it starting."

"We have had the dishwasher for about a month now, it does an outstanding job at cleaning anything we put in it. Another surprising thing is it's almost silent when running, you have to look at the panel for one of the blue status lights to see if its done. I have seen many of the negitive reviews from others and I was concerned that we may have issues too, but so far we are very very happy with it and would highly recommend it."

"Super pleased with the Samsung Dishwasher model DMT800RHS. From its ultra-sleek modern stainless steel exterior to the no nonsense interior stainless steel tube, this dishwasher rocks. One of the main reasons I purchased this particular model was because my previous one was plastic inside and after several years, had food stains and other unmentionables. Love, love, love the Energy star designation and, in particular, the zonal dishwasher capability; I used to "hold over" a light load until the next meal. Never again. And did I mention that it is "whisper jet" silent? Totally awesome!"

"Looking for a Refridgerator and matching dishwasher. Adjustable upper rack , stainless tub and basic capacity were some of the features. The unit is super quiet and also takes up to two hours for a normal wash.
Cons: The hot water inlet is is a forward facing connection and requires basically a 180 degree turn around, with limited floor clearance to work with pre-existing flex copper tubing. After many trips and components from the hardware store, I was finally shown the Universal flexible hose package and cut the tubing back and finished the install. Most units have the inlet facing down to the floor requiring a 90 degree elbow straight back."

"Knock on wood .... but we seem to have gotten a good one. We took our time installing it, made sure we ran an empty load to break it in, and always use rinse-aid.

"I bought this after reading the "bad reviews" with the theory that mostly angry people bother to do reviews, and my other Samsung appliances are wonderful quality. I have not been sorry. Yes, I had the problem with the circuit breaker tripping. I called customer service. The best customer service I have ever received ! and they had a local repair person out the next day. Problem fixed and I have never had another. Clean, dry and sparkling dishes. Oh and did I mention it is a very attractive unit"

"The only issue we have had with this product other than the installers broke the upper dish rack plastic mounting piece is that it is very sensitive to clean electricty, we occasionally have power surges and power brown outs which require us to reset the breaker before the dishwasher will turn on. NOT Samsungs fault, I attribute this to the power company in my area. This dishwasher is by far the quietest dishwasher ever, great product!!! I will definately purchase more Samsung products in the future."

"We 've had this dishwasher about three weeks now and it's as good as they say it is. Everything I've put in the dishwasher comes out sparkling clean. When they say that it is quiet, they are not kidding. You have to put your ear next to the door to see if it is running. I wholeheartedly recommend this product."

"When I got my dishwasher in October 2012 it was really quiet , however right before Christmas it started to get noisy and sounded like it was struggling to work .. Got the mechanic coming today whenever he gets here as it's snowing and a 5 hour window just isn't enough ... I hope he can fix it ..."

"like the unit's performance overall. have seen a few issues since starting to use it.
1) from time to time there is not power requiring me to recycle the breakers to get the unit to reset (this started around month 3 and happens infrequently)
2) we have rust appearing on the stainless steel door (just over a year old),
3) the bottom try does not roll in easily, being the wheels jump out off the track and derails.

Over all the unit is very quite, easy to operate and a good choice, we are very happy with it. One feature i would like to see is a rinse only feature (not a quick wash). we had it in a less expensive unit and it helped keep the smell down if dishes sat for more then a day. we use the smart wash feature all the time."

"I love it. I've had it 9 months now, and it cleans my dishes really well. The only negative comments I have are that occasionally, the soap door doesn't open, and I have to run it twice to be sure soap was used, but it only happens about once a month. Also, one of the ajustable brackets on the top shelf has recently broken, so I cannot raise the top rack to the upper position until I get that repaired."

"The unit works well. The only problem we have had is the top rack adjusting brackets have plastic tabs that hold them in place; the tabs keep breaking off without any justified reason. We only run the machine once or twice a week; there are only two of us in the household so use in very minimal."

"Dishwasher cleans very well especially on smart auto. The only thing I do not like is the layout inside the dishwasher especially the top covers for the silverware. Covers do not stay on very well and keep on falling off inside the dishwasher."

"Got this as part of a kitchen remodel and Im very happy with it so far. It has a lot more features for the money than other models and still is a high-quality machine, highly rated by Consumer Reports.
My one quibble is, when I used the recommended rinse I could taste it on my dishes after, meaning I had to rinse things off again. Hopefully this will diminish as I use the machine more, but otherwiise I may have to forgo the rinse aid."

"This is the quietest dishwasher ever and does an excellent job cleaning but you will never know if its filled with clean or dirty dishes. The manual says there is a light to indicate that its done and the dishes are clean but Ive never seen it. According to the manual the light stays on for 90 minutes. There is just no reason for the light to not stay on longer. My whirlpool stayed on until you opened the door and put the dishes away. If you live in a house with more than one person using the dishwasher this is completely unacceptable. I wound not buy this dishwasher again simply for this one reason. I'm sure I can one thats just as quiet and cleans as well that will the me know when its filled with clean dishes."

"It washes very good. The downside is the pad is extremely touchy and activates unexpectedly. The only other down side other than trying to keep the stainless clean, is the racks. The ones you can move back and forth are not a better design, the clips fell off the first week, not sure if they are correct after I attempted to put them back on!
Over all, it washes like a charm, but IMHO, it should for as long as it washes! We're pleased. (but dont put a lot of plastic in the unit as the DW doesn't dry them very well if you do)...

"This machine replaced a unit which was used intermittently for 12 years. Our experience with dish washers was not a positive one. Etched cloudy dishes with a film was the norm. After running one load of dishes my views on dishwashers was changed thanks to the Samsung DMT800RHS. The plates sparkled with a shine. This machine is so quite you do not know it is running unless you are in the kitchen and then only a barely noticed hum. The install was uneventful and accomplished in a very short time. Looks great and does the job it was designed to do quietly."

"We paid a little more this time for a dishwasher to ensure we got a quality product that worked. This seems to do the trick. The dishwasher works great so far. It is not a miracle worker... but for normally soiled dishes they come out very clean and the thing is completely silent. My only complaint is the price... which was a little steep."

"Amazing product! I don't have to worry about rinsing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher thanks to the storm wash option. Also no watermarks...ever!!! I did not trust my old dishwasher with glass pieces and did not think any dishwasher would eliminate that issue. This product did! Half load option is great for small families. It's also very quiet. The first time we used it my husband asked if it was really running. The only issue I've had is the power button. Sometimes I have to push it twice or three times before it powers on."

"Having difficulty with the racks. We have large square dishes and they don't fit well. Also, can't load the upper rack fully, as the support tines are at odd angles. The machine doesn't have a rinse cycle - big minus. I do like the controls. You don't have to push, just lay a finger on the control you want. Dishes come out clean. The bottom rack is tempermental. It doesn't slide in and out easily. On the plus side, it is very quiet."

Constantly leaves food remains on dishes even though it's new and clean. Glasses are always cloudy even with a rinse agent. Loading dishes is difficult due to extremely small tine placement. Your dishes had better be thin and flat or forget it. Glasses rack is designed for narrow glasses too. Bottom rack dips into bottom of machine when sliding back with dished in place - terrible!!"

"I have owned this dishwasher for 8 months now. It sometimes doesn't get the dishes all the way clean and doesn't always get them dry. It was running fine until last night when it stopped spraying water during the wash cycle and just makes a humming noise now. So I'm guessing the motor went out on it which isn't very good for only being 8 months old."

"We are having a few issues with this dishwasher, and I am glad we have the store warranty.
It does not dry the dishes very well is the first thing. We tried various ways of putting the dishes in as well as good-ole' Jet Dry. We have to towel dry dishes and the tops of glasses sometimes.
After a hand full of uses it does not want to come on. We have to turn off and on the breaker to reset the dang thing. Good thing is is in it's own breaker.
The turbo wash is cool if we ever need it, but it gets everything clean we have not needed the turbo.
Half washes is way cool to help save money."

"The dishwasher does a great job! It is so quiet you can hardly hear it running. The biggest cons are the poor design of the top rack brackets which have broke twice in the last 8 months. Secondly, the main duct that feeds water to the top sprayer disconnected after it appears the connection to the motor failed."

"This unit is the second unit as the first one was replaced in 30 days. This dishwasher is very quite but it does not dry the dishes very well. It stinks and must be cleaned under the door every week. I have it serviced several times and again it is broken down. This time it is low water flow. The brackets the allow you to raise and lower the upper shelf keeps breaking and gets into the discharge line and must be pulled out and serviced. All though I have never used this feature it has broken for the second time. I would not recommend this Samsung product. Samsung does makes a great refrigerator ."

"Not happy at all. 3 months out of warranty, it has broken completely. Dish cleaning was spotty at best. The design seems to be a copycat of a Kenmore design with the same problems. I would not recommend this model."

"My husband and I partially remodeled our kitchen 6 months ago, having new hardwood floors installed and all new appliances. I found the refrigerator I wanted, and since I wanted the range and dishwasher to match, we purchased all Samsung products. There was nothing wrong with my old appliances, just upgrading to stainless. The other appliances are great, but the dishwasher is pathetic. With my replaced dishwasher, I never had to even rinse dishes. With this Samsung, not only do we have to rinse everything, but most dishes we actually have to completely wash first, or you wouldn't be able to tell they had been through a cycle in the dishwasher. I'm using the same Cascade liquid as I used previously, as well as the rinse agent, but all of my glasses are hazy now. There is virtually no drying by the machine, so I have to hand dry everything. Totally disappointed. If it wasn't so expensive to replace it, since you have to get a permit and hire an installer, not to mention replacing the unit itself, I'd pull it out in a heartbeat. Every day that I look at it, I know we made a mistake. No matter what the salesman said, this unit is a dud. However, it does match my other appliances. Woo hoo."

"We purchased all Samsung appliances for our kitchen.. refrigerator, dishwasher, range, microwave hood/fan. For the most part they have been great, except for this dishwasher. It looks really nice, it matches the other appliances, but it is constantly breaking down and requiring service. As I write this, I am awaiting the 8th repair visit in 12 months of ownership. The circuit boards go out, the drainage pump went out, the motor goes out, constantly getting errors like button error (bE) or leak error (LE) flashing on the display. The plastic adjusters for the top rack start breaking down, the six little tabs that hold them in place wear down and snap off one by one, even if you almost never adjust the top rack. I'm now going through the process of claiming lemon coverage through the extended warranty which I bought separately. I really wanted to like this dishwasher, and I wanted a clean look in my kitchen with all matching appliances. But I simply cannot recommend this dishwasher. At the time I bought it, the reviews on here were terrible, but the salesman assured me many times they have not had problems with that model. I have since seen the reviews improve some, so maybe the earlier ones were bad. Either case, I would look at this unit as a gamble rather than a sure bet."

"The top rack of this dishwasher is connected on each side by plastic tabs. These tabs break off easily. We have only owned the dishwasher for little over a year and it has broken twice. Now of course it is out of warranty and I have to cover the cost of replacement, which I am sure will be a yearly occurrence. Another problem is the dishwasher needs to be unplugged and plugged back in several times a month to "reset" the control panel. It is very quiet and washes dishes well, but it is very convenient to use with these recurring problems."

"Had to have it serviced three times, nice unit from outside, stainless inside but cheap plastic breaks by itself. Also pump made a noise, but Samsung scheduled the replacement so I will give it another shot. Love the display, very quiet. Maybe I had bad luck with the unit."

"I like the sanitize feature and it is a very quiet machine. It is designed well for lading different sized dishes and glasses. It even does a fair job on pots in the storm wash. My big problem is that it almost never dries the dishes and they almost always come out looking dirty. I use nothing but the sanitize cycle and even that doesn't work. I fill the rinse aid every now and then, but that doesn't seem to help. It hasn't lived up to the sales pitch I was given at Lowe's."

"Really liked the looks and features of the product when I first bought it. But I started finding some serious problems:
- although its great the top rack's height can be adjusted, the clips are plastic. I have snapped 2 pieces of plastic off already by setting cups in the rack. If the lip of a cup catches on it, it breaks them. Very cheap plastic.
- this dishwasher seems to hold an excessive amount of moisture. I'm wondering if it is because the vent is on the bottom of the door instead of the top.
- the bottom drawer handle rests against the door during cycles. This can cause food to get stuck between the door and the drawer. I had to put rubber bumpers on the drawer to keep it away from the door.
- took a while to get the plastic smell out of the dishwasher after first buying it."
