The upgrade to Android 4.1.2 really made a difference in the functionality and productivity of this tablet earlier in the year. This tablet is by far my favorite tablet I have ever used. "I have had the galaxy Note 10.1 for about 2 months and can't seem to put it down because i can pretty much do anything with it on a whim. The ultra fast Note is something to behold. I could go on and on about the features and why it is the number 1 choice for those working in a office, at home or going to school. But really all you need to do is check it out yourself and decide. Everyone has there own opinion.
I do think that a in between device in terms of size needs to be considered by samsung."

"The Galaxy Note 10.1 is everything you want in a tablet. Its fast processor allows you to get things done quickly. The S Pen is absolutely amazing when trying to get things jotted down quickly. I love that everytime you pull the pen out, you have a menu , that you can customize, of applications where you would normally use the S Pen. Convenience, thank you. I love that you can have a split screen of two seperate applications open for example, if I am working on a word document but need data from an excel sheet, I can have both items open on the screen, drag and drop, cut and paste. Voila. Awesome. SO much more and I am still discovering things."

"I bought this product for both personal and business use. It's so lightweight - it fits easily in my purse or backpack. When at home, it's great for staying connected while moving from one room to the next. My 5-yr old grandson loves it and can easily navigate through most of the apps! In business, I manage a team of nutraceutical sales reps and this tablet is absolutely amazing! I can navigate through all my office emails and apps, spreadsheets, schedules, etc. and I'm completely mobile...I love it!!! It's also a great tool for sharing videos and reference articles with prospects and clients on-the-spot...my days of carting around paper files and binders are finally over! What attracted me most to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 was the ability to not just take a snapshot of documents (source: camera or internet), but to add notes (S-Pen), and clip and paste them to other mediums that I can file away for future reference or share with others (All-Share Play). Every one who holds my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 wants one!"

"Best Audio of all the tablets I test drove (why nobody else uses front facing speakers I can't imagine). The addition of the WACOM stylus makes this a truly useful tool.
Graphics are Fantastic. Even though the display is a touch warm the colors are vibrant and resolution is very good."

"I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 32GB. I simply love this device. I did quite a bit of research on tablets of all brands, sizes and their respective operating systems. Up to the point when I actually placed my order for the Galaxy Note 10.1, it was the only 10" tablet I found with a standard 2GB system RAM and a quad core processor. Every other tablet in the 10" category only had 1GB system RAM and a dual core processor at best as standard. The display on this device is crisp only limited by the apps installed. Some older game and program apps will be sort of blurred because they were intended for a hand held android phone, not a tablet. Video is smooth and crisp, sound is amazing for this device. Overall, I'm very pleased with my Galaxy Note 10.1 and would recommend it."

"In the year of 2012 I owned a few tablets not lower end tablets but mid level.I had read more reviews than I ever thought I would I vowed I would not buy any more for a couple years than with in a week I was buying another this is my 4th and I have never owned a Samsung tablet before now I am very pleased with my purchase though is a costly one I went with the 32gb version so that I would have plenty of space the tablet is much lighter and ergonomically designed it runs faster than any tablet I have ever owned I have also bought the PDair ver 1 case it fits it perfect though again not cheap but again you get what you pay for Thanks Samsung for the great product keep it up"

"I absolutely love my Samsung Note 10.1. I use it for fun and functionality. It's the perfect mix of both worlds.
Day to day I take it to class with me as it is lighter than my laptop; combined with a bluetooth keyboard, stylus, and Polaris Office it is the ultimate study aid.
I am disappointed that there is no flash availability any longer. I had really enjoyed that feature. I do, however, realize that is an Android thing, not a Samsung issue."

"I got this as a surprise for Christmas and love it. I had it working on my home network within minutes and by the end of the day I had it configured (with the help of some free apps) to browse and work with files on PC's on my home network, play videos and still be able to do work on it. The antenna is good at picking up even weak wireless signals. It even has an app and emitter so you can use it as a universal remote for some TV's. The battery life is fine given all that I have running on it at one time. There is a handy widget you can put on the desktop to kill unneeded apps. The display is clear and bright in doors, but I couldn't see it very well in the sunlight. It feels sturdy but I'll be more comfortable carrying it around once I have a cover on it."

Cons: built in speakers are not very powerful, awkward headphone jack placement, it would be nice if it came with a basic cover

"I have owned many other tablets but none and I do mean none have provided me with such an amazing tablet computing experience!
I am impressed with the S pen and all of the tasks one can achieve with it. The features outshine many other tablets that I have used in the past. I once had one of the more recent iPads but to tell you the truth...you cannot top this Note 10.1.
You can't separate me from this tablet!!! I have not experienced one con but I could go on and on about the pros. I would recommend this tablet especially to those who are artists but even reading a book is awesome. Thank you Samsung for delivering such state of the art in tablet computing. I love Samsung products!!!"

"First this is an upgrade from a Galaxy Tablet 10 and an Ipad v1. The Gal Tab 10 was superior to the Ipad for my uses - it was lighter and played much better on a home network - I could use the built in file manager to transfer files over the home network. No need to hook up to a PC or use translation programs like itunes. Need a file? Turn on wireless, locate strorage and transfer the shared file. Works for music, works for images, works for zip files. And nothing erased after a year of use (Try that record with itunes).
The only thing lacking in the Gal Tab 10 was the ability to take notes easily. I can't get used to writing with a kindergarten sized stylus ( you know, the big, clunky things that write a thick line on a capacitance screen). Write small enough to put a whole sentence on a single page and it is too small to read later. And there were no apps for translating from test handwriting to typeface, such as OCR on the PC.
The Gal note 10.1 has fulfilled the last need. I have a sharp-point stylus so I can scribble words and diagrams to my heart's content and a built-in app that translates my cursive writing into typed text. I can fill up pages. I can read my notes. It (the Gal Note 10 ) has even scored a near 100% translation score on OCR translation. The only thing I have had to correct is to insert spaces in run-together words.
Even tech support has been good. One early problem was how to use one feature (formula and word translation ) without turning on wireless. They guided me to the place where the software code for that set of services are controlled. (That probably doesn't make sense until you try it)
Anyway I am happy with the newest version of the Gal Note 10.1. Keep it a secret though; I wasn't supposed to open until Christmas."

"I'm in the military and one of my buddies said this was the way to go and although I have a laptop this item is great for on the go travelS across the globe. The battery takes a while to charge completely but once it is charged it stays up for a long time up to week or so. Awesome product would buy another one and will definately add the expansion card. I have a case coming to protect it but so far it is one of the best products for usage and portability. Completely satisfied!"

"I was a slightly concerned before ordering this product. I had seen negative reviews about the casing and product quality. However, I got it and things were great. The download times to get my apps and multimedia from Amazon and Google were fantastic. I got a tablet case the next day and so far the tablet has held up. It has even survived an accidental fall to my wife's head. She was hurt for a bit but the tablet was in great shape.
This thing is great, what a fantastic Christmas present."

"I bought this device back when they first came out. I did the research and I'd seen the phone version, but really didn't want to get that one. I wanted something with a little more guts and a lot more capacity. I bought the grey 32 gig version.
My sister has a tablet by another manufacturer, which I really wasn't fond of and I wanted something that would do more than that.
This device has become the envy of many people I work with because of what it can do, it can actually be productive and work with actual text files on the go, unlike the other company's big selling tablet. I can actually keep a journal, a notebook and other things with true handwriting recognition, instead of what they try tries to pass off, at less than what one of their devices costs.
Only drawback I have found is that it takes a while to get updates, like the next OS update, supposedly coming this month. But we'll see."

"When I did some research on the product, I was both excited and surprised to see that it could use wacom pens, and it works really well. "Even my co-workers (all iPad and iPhone owners) 'oooo' and 'awww' at what my new Galaxy Note 10.1 can do that they'd like their iPads to be able to do. Like creating and editing MSoft Office documents and easily moving them onto their laptop. Cropping or modifying a picture just taken using the Note and inserting it into an e-mail. And the biggee, showing them familiar interface where you can see, and copy and delete and move files freely on the device and over a USB cable, which is a friendly GUI experience not available to iPad owners. Thanks to Florian Mueller for his comments about the Galaxy Note phone that lead me to this tablet. After buying and returning both the most expensive Kindle HD and iPad available, I didn't expect to find a non-toy, non-entertainment, productive table like the Galaxy Note."

"I like my Galaxy Tab Not 10.1 very much. It is WiFi only and I mostly use it at home at present time, to check email, look up stuff on Google, also to chat on MSN Messenger and AIM.
I'm still learning how do thing on the Note. The pen is a great asset as well as the voice features. I had bought a laptop 3 days before buying the Note and decide to take the laptop back and paid $100 more for Note, well worth the money.
It is very good product as far as i can tell now, I also have Samsung 40 inch LCD 4 years old and it is also excellant.

"Love this product!!! Incredibly simple to set up and personalize. Adding apps is a breeze and love getting notifications about updates and new emails. SPen is terrific and no delays. Only downside is no usb port, nor samsung adapter for such, but there is a miniSD slot and dropbox installed. I will learn to adapt."

"The S Pen feature is what made me choose the Note 10.1 over the IPad. I read a lot of reviews about different tabets. The deciding factor for me was the S Pen and the productivity value of the Note 10.1. I like the fact that I can hold a pen and write. I would like to have a 3G or 4G wireless connection instead of only a wi-fi connection, but I figure I can always use my cell phone has a hot spot. I currently have an I-phone 4s and I will be changing to Samsung's Galaxy Note smart phone, again because of the S Pen.
The performance so far is very good. The voice recognition requires access to the internet, but voice recognition should be available on the tablet to allow for note taking when a wi-fi connection is unavailable.
The display is excellent. I viewed the sample video on the Note 10.1 and the display way crystal clear and every detail was sharp. Although I did not purchase this to watch movies or read books I am sure I will give it a try.
I had to get help from customer support to find the manual on-line which really should have been on the device. But the device is easy enough to use without the manual. The manual is really only needed just to learn some details that are unique to the device and the S Pen.
So far I am happy with the purchase and the Note 10.1."

"I am very well pleased with the Galaxy Note (GN). This device is totally awesome. The features are simply the best I have ever used. For instance, GN is technologically advanced that is can control my audio/video multimedia system in my man cave. In addition, the GN is capable of sending a magic packet to my PC or laptop and fire it up then allow me to remote in and control the desktop of both devices. Furthermore, I can read books, watch movies, produce correspondence and financial forecast with excel video Conferencing and play an occasional game (e.g chess). In short, these are just a few of GN's features that I am in the knowledge of. "I really love the Galaxy products by Samsung. Excellent tablet with great functionality. Heavy user and very impressed with how well Samsung keeps up. From checking email, reading, taking notes for class, surfing the internet doing research, & socializing to editing images, this tablet delivers. The addition of the S-Pen makes this an even more invaluable tool. Paired with the on-board textbook reading app, I'm able to markup PDF files. "Having received this as a gift prior to the long road trip across Texas for Thanksgiving, it made for a fun distraction from the immense fog.
Love playing in PhotoShop at all times; wish the one which came with the tablet had better customization and features, but it works for playing while on the go.
The only real issue I've noted was this morning; gmail's app won't send the attached photos without restarting the tablet, though I'm sure it's on their end...right?"
