"I hadn't purchased a digital camcorder in quite a few years. It was my youngest child's first Christmas this year so I figured I needed to upgrade to a new camcorder with all the newest technology available. I purchased every popular name brand of camera out there (Cannon, JVC, Sony, etc) and returned them all after using them for a couple of days. These brands simply didn't live up to the quality that the store sales people said they were and was very disappointed. I didn't want to spend too much money on an HD camera, but then I discovered the Samsung HD camcorder. The price wasn't too bad as compared to the other brand of HD cameras. So, I took a chance and purchased it with every intention of returning it like all the other brands I had purchased to that point. WOW!! I couldn't believe that a camera actually lived up to all the hype! This camera is awesome!! It takes great video and the HD quality is second to none. Watching video on my 46 inch Samsung HDTV looks great and is worth the money I spent on it. There are only 2 things that I would change on this camera if I could. One, it only has 10 x optical zoom and it doesn't come with any memory. Unless you're recording a sporting event from the stands, you'll have enough zoom to record most regular types of events. You can also buy memory pretty cheap these days so that wasn't a factor for me either. Other cameras had 60 gigs of memory and 60x zoom, but the quality of the video was horrible. Not a very good trade in my opinion. Other than that, it's a great camera and would recommend it to everyone."

"I wasn't sure what type of camcorder to buy when I started researching brands and specs, but this turned out to be the best purchase because it is feature rich with the touch screen, it works very well in low light, which my previous camcorder didn't and the image stabilization actually works! This is my first Samsung purchase and I will have to say they will be the first vendor I look at when I purchase anymore electronics. The menus are very easy to navigate, I didn't even need the book even though I referenced it several times. The only thing that I think could be better would be a mini guide to HD Video and the mp4 file format. I would definetely buy this again."

"Built in software doesn't have the function to transfer your videos to a DVD. Make sure you have your own software to do this.
If subject is dark, then video is totally dark! I miss the old video cameras with low lux capabilities!
