"Nice little camcorder: Got it on time and in good working order it does what I need it to do and is nice and compact, had a little trouble with memory battery at first but it worked it self out so all is good."
Pros: compact design fits in your coat pocket nicely.
Cons: images seem to be not as crisp as my older unit, batteries don't last as long as stated

Nice camcorder but difficult viewing HD video files on laptops

"The camcorder is very nice but forget about viewing the HD video file on your laptop at least if you have a standard laptop like I do. I can't view the H.264 mpeg 4 files on my laptop. Tech service said it is issue with codec or media player. All three techs from samsung said use VLC. Eventually after hours and hours of work I found on my own that you need a dedicated graphics card with min of 512 RAM. If you've shopped for laptops recently you'll find that most standard laptops have on board graphics card which can't be upgraded. A few expensive laptops configured for serious gaming will have this. This information should be published by Samsung and would have been important before I had bought my laptop. I don't discuss desk tops since they are easy to upgrade and 512 mb graphics cards are reletively inexpensive but let;s be real. I'm not going to drag my desktop around to show my friend and family the videos. If you think you're going to down convert the file using provided software so you can view it on your laptop, my core duo processer took 13 hours to convert about 30 min of video. No joke. There are devices you can buy and hook up your laptop to or portable hardrive to view the videos on TV but that is another story and review. By the way, I ended up getting a new Samsung Q430 laptop with i5 and a dedicated graphics card which does have 512 mb Ram. And yes, I have no issue viewing the HD video files on this laptop using the standard media player that comes with windows 7. Be warned, this is not a cheap solution."
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, nice design, nice zoom, large viewer, nice video picture quality
Cons: need expensive laptop to view the hd video, still photos are decent not great
