"After having a side by side GE for 8 years (replaced twice) I couldn't wait for it to die permanently. When it did I was sure I didn't want a side by side again. The Samsung accommodates more food, more efficiently than a side by side, even though it's smaller. The freezer is also more efficient. Food doesn't get lost as it does in a side by side. I didn't think so when we initially looked at it at the store, but I was sure I wanted that type of refrigerator since I work for a builder and very informed about appliances. It's quiet, sleek, and everything I need in a refrigerator. I'm very happy with it. Now I can't wait for the dishwasher to die."

"There is only one light bulb in the refrigerator. The illumination is insufficient and uneven. It should have two light bulbs like most refrigerator would."

First Thoughts

"My Maytag 21.5 sf refrigerator gave up the ghost night before last after 17 years of hassle-free service, so the last day and a half have been spent buying dry ice and looking for a replacement.
I wanted something energy efficient, good looking and with a bottom freezer. Also didn't want to break the bank. Samsung answered all.
The RB215AB fit in existing refrigerator space and, more important, fit through the front and hallway doors. We don't have a huge kitchen and family size if three. After reloading the items from the the coolers, I was surprised at how much space we had left over. Very impressed. I adjusted one shelf to fit taller bottles. I don't typically store wine in the refrigerator, but could in the door shelf which can also accomodate gallon containers of milk and 2-liter-sized soda bottles. My Brita filtered-water pitcher just fits.
What I like most about the refrigerator is that everything is readily visible and accessible.
I was skeptical of the two freezer compartments, thinking I'd have less space than the Maytag, but I was wrong. Well thought-out and intelligent design yields significant functionality--top drawer for regularly used items and ice-maker; bottom bin for longer-term ,deep freeze storage.
Style wise: Looks very sleek and the platinum finish wipes off easily. Very quiet and even loaded, rolls out easily to sweep behind.
I'm reserving the extra performance star until later. Unit has been plugged in for two hours and is at operating temps.
So far so good. Stay tuned."

Water Stands In Bottom Of Refridgerator

"Google "water collecting in bottom" "Samsung refrigerator" to see how many are frustrated with this issue. I have 'thawed' my frost free unit twice in the last year which requires emptying fridge and removing shelves and panel. Fridge was set at 38 as per manufacturers guidelines.
I can live with it, and the overfilling ice trays which cause clumps of ice in the drawer, but I don't have to rate it highly.
