"I first purchased the 26 cu ft side by side but due to the lack of clearance on the sides, I feel the cooling was not proper due to ventilation only. We received this one today and I am so excited. I love everything about it. The door bins are limited but the other features this item offers makes up for it. Ice began producing in less than 3 hrs. I was pleasantly surprised at the space in the freezer. The lighting is great and I love the sliding drawer under the shelf. I would definitely recommend to anyone that has a small family and does not need a huge fridge. I am very happy with mine."

"This refrigerator would be in my kitchen 9 months ago if it had the features of it's bigger brothers. I LOVE this refrigerator, the 4 stars for features, design and value are all due to the lack of two glaring omissions. 1. Why is there no option for an in-door water dispenser? While I understand the difficulties in routing water to french doors, but the siblings in this range do have this feature. I know it would cut down usable space as well, but again, why not available as an option? 2. LED lighting. Sounds silly, but it's how I fell in love with this fridge in the first place, very easy on the eyes late-night."

"I've had this fridge for almost a year. I love the sleek modern look and it keeps everything wonderfully cold even in hot humid Houston. The arm on the icemaker broke a couple of months in, the repairman showed up promptly and fixed that. My only complaint is the loud noises. It's like having a talking refrigerator. My computer is in the kitchen and the loud pops, buzzes and hics can get on my nerves.. I can hear it all the way upstairs! Water gushing into the icemaker is really loud also. It needs more sound insulation, otherwise it's almost perfect! LOL!"

French doors - Ooh la la!

"It looks good and you can open only one door at a time once you know where everything is placed. You have to open both doors to access either crisper. The shelves are not fully adjustable. The middle shelf is adjustable and has about a 3 inch spread. The tall items will have to go on the doors. Medium tall items (like beer bottles) can fit on one of the shelves if the middle shelf is adjusted up or down. The door bins are fully adjustable and removable. I had to make an adjustment in my thinking about food placement i.e. items that used to be on the door are on the shelves and items that used to be on shelves are on the door, but it works for me. The humidity controller in the crisper actually works. Thanks to the dual evaporators the food in the crisper doesn't freeze and stays fresh and moist if needed (like lettuce) or a little drier if not needed (like oranges). The sliding deli storage drawer is a feature that I won't use because of the varying height of food stored on the shelf below. I'll use the drawer, just not the sliding feature.

The freezer keeps food perfectly. The handle moves up a little when you pull which makes it easier to open the freezer because you don't have to pull straight out. Inside the freezer is a top drawer which contains the ice bin. It's also perfect for the flat boxes of frozen stuff. The lower bin is big enough for roasts, chickens, and turkeys. I don't know if it will hold a huge turkey. Perhaps someone else knows. The lower bin has a divider which is can be moved to almost any position or removed allowing great flexibility in the size of the bins. The bin has slant at the back which makes the bin smaller at the bottom and larger at the top. This feature will allow more food to be accessible near the top.

I'm a big fan of the bottom freezer because I'm in and out of the fridge often and only use the freezer once or twice a day. When summer comes and ice is in demand the placement of the ice bin is perfect. I couldn't afford the models that have ice/water in the door, so this was the perfect choice for me. I did a lot of research including consumer reports and this fridge is highly rated by all and considered a best buy.

I am a fan of the look, performance and ease of use."

"About 15 minutes after delivery and set-up I realized a BIG problem. Not enough space for tall containers such as milk or juice. Only two small shelves on the doors. Definetly not enough space for more than two or three bottles at a time. We have had to become creative in storing such items. Laying on their sides and praying for no leaks. There is only one adjustable shelf and still that doesn't accommodate a 10" tall bottle of milk. Split shelves would have really been nice.
On the plus side, it is very quiet, the ice-maker is great and also very quiet. The crisper drawers are substantial and quite sturdy. The lighting is good and the controls are very convenient."

"In a world where there are so many choices available and features to choose from I am still happy we purchased this refrigerator. I like that the freezer has full bins and not just wire ones, that the ice maker takes up minimal space, that the fridge beeps at you if the door has been left open too long on accident, and that the french doors can open independent of each other.

I do wish that there was more customization in regards to placement of the fridge shelves. I feel like it doesn't fit very many tall things and when I add juice to the fridge I have to take my Brita filter out since it won't fit both at the same time in the doors and they are too tall to fit anywhere else. I also kind of miss having shelves in the freezer for some things but I knew that would be an issue with the type of fridge this is, and it is just something I will have to learn to work around."

"This is a very good refrigerator for the price and style. Works great for small family. I have been using this refrigerator for a month now. It is difficult to put 1 gallon milk containers inside compartments since the height is low. But I put 3-4 milk containers in the upper tray by tilting the containers. "The freezer door handle has a MAJOR design flaw...if you pull the drawer too hard the handle breaks off.
I haven't called yet, but will have to soon to get a new door handle.
I do like the bottom freezer feature and the fact that the freezer is a drawer with a light. Easy to see the items in the freezer but never expected the handle to break off so easily or ever for that matter. Have only had the refrig nearly 3 months."

"This refrigerator has some nice features. However, it really is difficult to find enough spaces for tall containers, i.e., wine bottles, milk jugs, etc. Only the bottom shelves on the doors accommodate these things, just not enough! There needs to be more options in arranging the shelves.
ALSO - the ice-maker ice tasted horrible for the first 2 1/2 months! In desperation I finally took the freezer baskets out (now THAT was a challenge!), and washed down ALL surfaces in the freezer with a baking soda solution. We're not sure if that was the reason for the improvement, or if the ice maker had finally passed enough ice and cleaned itself?
Aside from some problems with the dealer and salesman's false promises, we'll eventually enjoy it."

"As others have stated the shelving needs more flexibility to accommodate taller items. Split shelving with more adjustments would accomplish this and I would be willing to pay a higher price to for this feature. I also find the butter tray to be of minimal use. It really needs to be bigger to allow you to put a margarine tub in it. I have also found that the unit is louder than the 12 year old refrigerator it replaced. While it is not to the point of being annoying it is going to require some adjustment to the new noise.

The unit did cool down quickly and appears to keep a more consistent temperature than my previous fridge. For it's size the produce drawers are more than adequate. I also find the shelves easier to locate items on than my old side by side. The freezer is easy to access and I like the upper drawer as it makes it easier to keep things organized.

All in all it is a decent refrigerator for it's cost. If I had to make the decision over again I would probably still pick this one over the other refrigerators in it's price and physical size ranges."

"knew as soon as I started to put stuff away, I had a made a mistake with the french door in a 20 cu ft. this product is too small to warrant a french door. neither side is wide enough to easily access without opening the other door. also the (small) door bins are limited in the placement and the extra moveable drawer that hangs off one of the shelves is too small to fully utilize, (again, 20 cu. ft. too small to add extra "doodads"). ended up removing it altogether."

"Samsung french door model# RF217ACWP. My major limitation for deciding what type of fridge to choose was the size. Have a small kitchen and limited space so I was looking at purchasing this size/style/simplicity(didn't want h2O or ice dispenser outside) of fridge which limited my choices a great deal. Initially loved this fridge. Inspite of the fact that it had limited capacity to hold large container (gallon size) in the door. But started noticing problems after a few months when bottom freezer became frozen shut. After much yanking, got it open to find a pool of ice at the bottom. Had to remove it and freezer door opened with no problem, but this continued to happen periodically where you had trouble opening it and you had to remove the sheet of ice pooling at bottom. I could live with this believe it or not, but then by the end of Year one of ownership frigde started making gurgling sounds and finally stopped cooling altogether. Lost a lot of food as an outcome. After 2 visits from local contract company and 1 visit from "expert" Samsung maintenance person it was determined that the fridge fan had to be replaced completely and the freezer problem was due to a factory defect. The fan problem is a common one it sounds like and I have no idea if the replacement was good longterm fix to the problem, but it shouldn't be expected to be a problem with such a common part only after a year's worth of use given the large ticket item purchase. Poor quality part. Fortunately, the provider where I purchased the fridge still did a complete replacement on it for another fridge even though that part of the warranty had expired by one month. In spite of it all, there are other features Samsung got right and I still prefer the quality of the Samsung fridge(not the internal parts) in design over the replacement fridge, but the headaches overcame benefits."
