"The model I chose, RFP293HAPN, has no water or ice in the door, just an ice maker in the freezer. I simply wanted a french-door refrigerator with a lot of space, and this refrigerator has space! I am slightly disabled, and the french door design places all items at just the right height. Even the water filter is beautifully designed and located between the two veggie drawers to minimize space utilization, and easy to get to.

Unit has twin cooling, one unit for the fridge, the other for the freezer. This only makes sense, can't imagine why other mfr don't do the same!!

I do wish it would have come with an extra door tray or two, I am going to call Samsung to ask for a couple more. Although it came with 4, I have a lot of little jars that could easily fit in 2 extra door trays.

Freezer is well organized and has a flip-up for pizza boxes. The freezer easy-open feature is thoughtful.

I got the Platinum finish instead of the pure SS, Platinum is a coated SS, and resists fingerprints. NO care needed. Good choice.

Negs: the door handles are a little loose, but that might have been the result of the installers."

"We replaced our Kenmore Elite side by side with the Samsung and have been very happy with our purchase so far. It has great lighting and the accessibility to items is much better than our previous fridge. It is very quiet and have benefitted from the alarm when the door is left ajar. Prior to our purchase we had some reservations about reviews regarding the ice maker, although the many reviews of this type seemed to span all makes and models. We love the "platinum" finish because of its ease of cleaning and ability to stick magnets on it."

"Overall, I am pleased with my fridge. It fits my family's needs and space for food. I can store twice as much food than my old GE side by side freezer and fridge. I haven't yet proven if the fridge caused this or not, but I had a couple packages of shredded cheese mold in the crisper."
