"We've had this unit now for more than a year and still love it. It has tons of space - more than we need. Design is pretty good, although the large tray in the refridgerator portion requires both doors to be open to pull out. I believe some newer models offer a separate door for this compartment now. Ice machine does work fine overall and is fine for us, but if you need large volumes of ice (filling up a cooler of something like that, probably better to go buy a bag somewhere). Only other thing is that at times (not regularly) the ice machine makes some noises when dispensing that concern me, but so far no problems. Has held up well to date and I'd highly recommend."

"We upgraded to the Samsung from a clunky and small freezer on top fridge. Wow! What a difference. Now we have more that enough space in the fridge and freezer and crushed ice to boot! The Samsung keeps everything at the perfect temp. No more worrying about food spoilage. Also, the lighting in the fridge makes it so easy to see everything. "I replaced a 25cf side by side refrigerator with this new 29cf french door Samsung. I was concerned with not having enough space because of the french door design but that is what my wife wanted. I am happy to say I was wrong. This thing has tons of room and is very well laid out. The freezer space is awesome and its easier than ever to find things. The most amazing thing is how evenly it controls the temp in the refrigerator. Front, back, top, or bottom shelves things stay the same temp. I just don't think I could have picked a better product for my specific needs."

"Really? Adjustable shelves? Not really. Yes you can select the position of the shelves, but really only 2 positions that are useable for each. Move them around on the demo unit and see what I'm talking about. But they do work for 98% of my needs. And they are strong and easy to clean."

"I find reviews that are only a few weeks old to be of little value, so I have waited. I have been using my Samsung fridge for 15 months, and I still love it! With the double doors, everything is in full view making it easy to find items. However, I frequently open only the right door - putting the most-used items on the right, eliminates the need to open both doors. I feel it is better made than other fridges we inspected - e.g., the door shelves, plastic drawers and supports are more sturdy, show little if any scratching, and are very easy to clean. My favorite features - the retractable shelf to accommodate extra tall items, the split shelf styling and the deli tray.
The freezer is not only energy efficient, it holds more, and with the divider and sliding tray is very easy to organize . Favorite features - the sliding tray and the option to store boxed pizzas on edge. Incidentally, I did initially have trouble with the flap on the left fridge door not flipping out to close the gap between doors, but once I adjusted the door height, it has functioned perfectly. I've had many refrigerators over the years and although it is an expensive model, this Samsung far exceeds my expectations and really is the best fridge I've ever had! I highly recommend it!!"

"The Samsung French Door model has a great layout, stylish design and plenty of room! Which means, of course, that we'll spend more to fill up the 28.5 cu ft storage area ;). I shopped online and in stores examining the other brands and none came close to the features and appearance of the Samsung. Some comments I've read from others complained about the loudness of the ice dropping. OK, let's see, hard ice falling into a hard storage bin; I'm guessing, but it's probably a physics phenomenon more than a design flaw that causes this sound, and really, it's not that loud. Hey we love our new Samsung and recommend it highly!"

"We got this frig four months ago we love it you can't hear it run if it was'nt for the ice maker. The engineers got every thing right on this thing. I had to play with the temp. settings to get every thing where we like it. I set the frig temp to 34F I set the freeser to +4F the factory setting was soo cold that icecream was hard as a rock. Don't use a saddle valve to hook up the ice maker if you have hard water it will clog up and not give you good water flow I use a fitting that fits on top of the cold water shut off that has 3/8 compression fittings top and bottom and 1/4 compressionon on the side."

"I am a Certified Executive Chef in the American Culinary Federation and wanted a refrigerator that keeps a temperature of 34 degrees. My milk is ice cold and my produce stays fresher days longer than any refrigerator I have ever owned. When I build a platter of cold cuts and cheeses or bake a cake with real buttercream icing that has to be chilled there is ample space to keep them in my new Samsung refrigerator. The extra 4 cubic feet of space really makes a difference. Between the raw food and cooked food in the refrigerator at the same time it is always full but never overflowing. With power cool, after shopping my food cools down so quickly there is minimal deterioration in the quality of the food. I work hard to provide for my family and putting my money was well worth this investment. I highly recommend this refrigerator. SAMSUNG-The New Name In Kitchen Appliances!!!"

"I like the refrigerator a lot. It's big and has tons of good features.
But the water dispenser is not well designed. The shape of the recess requires me to tip the top of the container away from myself, and the water nozzle points away from me. As a result, I can't really see what I'm doing. I miss the target often and i sometimes overfill the container. Filling a container without spillage would be much easier if the nozzle pointed straight down"

"I spent quite a bit of time reading reviews of this refrigerator. I went to the local warehouse outlet and checked out various brands of french door refrigerators. I finally decided on this one. We've had the refrigerator for nearly 2 months. I have not had the infamous ice maker problem yet...I do believe it has been fixed by Samsung. Both the manufacturer and a buyer from a distributor had assured me that the issue has been resolved. ( I bought an extended warranty anyway) The ice maker is a little louder than most refrigerators for both making and dispensing the ice. The refrigerator's hum is a little louder than our old refrigerator. We hear this late at night when the kids are sleeping and my wife and I are watching TV. Other than those minor issues, we are very pleased with the refrigerator...Big, pretty, functional, cold."

"I bought this frig in December 2008,. I have had repairs on this item 3 different times. Although the frig looks good it has a terrible ice maker on it. If I had it to do all over I would not buy it. I have to keep ice in freezer because the performance of ice maker is so mad. They have just put a new ice maker in so I hope maybe I can at lease get 4 - 5 glasses of ice. There is only my husband and myself.

I wish I had not bought it. If you don't need much ice it might be OK for you
