"I have to say, this is a beautiful refridgerator. I love it! Love the features, appearance and oh... those whom complain about smudges on stainless steel appliances should already know about leaving marks behind. SO... no one to blame, but buyer be aware!
I have to say I did have one issue when I got it home. The ice maker wasn't getting water to the tray. Called tech support and had approved Samsung service come look. We both determined the water line must have been pinched inside the door itself. Lowes can out with a new door within a couple days. Great and quick service! Thank you.
I bought ALL matching Samsung appliances. Initially I ordered competitor appliances. When I got home and started reading all the review issues customers were having with fires unrelated to cooking and microwave touchpads not responding to the touch. I decided to cancel the order and went with Samsung. SO HAPPY I DID!"

"Purchased this refrigerator becasue of it's many features.
The Ice maker doesn't fill the Freezer.
Recomend only use Cube never Crushed
The interior is well designed in both Ref. & Freezer
Excelent lighting.
Easy access to the filter.
However, unless you are a cleaner freek don't get stainless steel. You cna't touch anything but the handle or you leave a mess every time and every place you touch it. Black or White would be easy to keep clean. Bought all new kitchen appliances and they are all Stainless (BIG MISTAKE)

"I really like this fridge. Everything works well. The light inside is soft, but bright enough. The only two issues I have is the top shelf does not adjust lower for milk. I know the doors have room for the milk, but I typically like my milk and other beverages on the top shelf and the clearance is very minimal. I love the freezer organization and that the ice maker is in the door. I have a lot more room in the freezer versus my old side by side. Also, while I like the stainless steel look and am glad it holds magnets, the stainless steel has been scratched by some of my magnets and does so easily."

"For the money this Fridge is great. It had some issues originally but Samsung sent out a repair man and the issue was fixed. We got a great deal purchasing it new around Black Friday and have owned it for almost a year now with no recurring issues. The interior LED lights are a really nice touch and it keeps everything super cold."

"I understand someone getting a lemon that has fundamental issues, but I don't understand complaints about basic features of this model. The ice maker is excellent and quickly dispenses ice into a glass (even a small one) without getting anything on the floor. There is a littlle crushed ice in with the cubed ice when you switch, but I expect that there will be some stuck in the chute. The water does drip one or two drops when you remove a glass, but it certainly doesn't run down the front of the fridge. I also don't notice the noises others have noted, except ice falling into the ice bin, but they all have this issue.
As almost everyone has noted, this refrigerator looks great inside and out. Favorite features on the inside are the number of drawers and the wine rack. The controls are very easy to use and the fast freeze and cool features are great at this price point. IMO the only legitimate complaint is that the lighting is a little dimm and does not light the bottom two drawers. We are very happy with this model and will definitely recommend it to friends."

"Love the ice machine in door, so much room, temp stays steady. Only thing I would change regarding design is the water outlet would shoot straight down in container instead of angled to the back of the glass. You can't go wrong with this refrigerator. I'm so glad I didn't purchase the other manufacturer I was looking at and got the samsung side by side rs265. Very pleased."

"Really love the refridgerator - looked at probably a millions but saw this one and fell in love. The LED tower at the back of the refridgerator is so cool looking when you open the door. No peeking around - boom ! It's all right there is plain view. Thought I might want a freezer on the bottom but this freezer is huge - pizza boxes fit just fine."

"My wife and I just love our new Samsung refrigerator. We've only had it 3 days now but it's a huge upgrade over the fridge that came with our home. We really like the wine rack and LED lights inside. It took some time (this is our first refrigerator with ice maker and water) but we realized the ice maker takes 24 hours to produce the first thing of ice, lol. So far we love it."

"I saw this side by side an knew right away it was the one!!! I love the lights inside and the space! The only thing that I'm still figuring out is the ice maker wants to crush the ice after the first glass of ice is filled."

I will preface by saying I have never been very impressed with any in-door icemaker. They always seem cheaply made and provide erratic operation. Ice does fly out of the chute pretty easy, especially with crushed option. Seems like a trait of all ice makers. The size of the ice storage could be an issue for larger families and definitely for parties. Ours will fill the bin in 24 hours or so.
2. LED lighting is not as good as it seems once you have your fridge stuffed with food and the lights are partially blocked. It wasn't good initially, but it's not a problem after we got used to it. Even in a dark kitchen you can still see everything, it's just a little dark.
3. Because of high water pressure in our area the ice maker makes a prominent loud noise when filling with water. If faucet at sink is on at the time it sounds like normal.
4. Need to have more shelf adjustments and ability to remove one of the storage bins. For us three is excessive.
5. The two stage water/ice is just Ok. Nice to have it all in one paddle, but have to push a little too hard for ice.

General Use info:
We have made top shelf in fridge tall enough to hold case boxes of drinks and allows for ample space for tall things when combined with door storage. The "wine rack" is a dust collector in a closet already. Even if we were regular wine drinkers it takes up too much space.

Overall, we like this fridge and still get excited about it based on value for features; the build quality is great and styling is very nice. Twin cooling feature keeps the occasional smelly foods from moving from one compartment to the other."

"This refrigerator replaced an 8 year old unit that had replaced a 2 year old refrigerator. Both previous units had bad designs and structural parts. After this experience I spent a lot of time examining the Samsung box to make sure that is was designed and built so the past would not happen again. I believe this to be a superior refrigerator which I will enjoy using and owing."

"We were not planning on buying a new refridgerator when my husband saw this at Lowes. After many times of looking at this we decided to buy it. We love the inside lights and the doors that hold gallon containers without a problem and also keep it cold. The drawers in the freezer are a plus so that small items are contained and do not fall out when you open the door. We would definitely reccommend this to our friends and have already done so to a few of them"

"simply love this fridge. other refrigerators in our price range were built on 35 year old technology and with a filter attached to the undercarriage where it gets hot and dirty. Everything is easy to get to, to clean, and we even got a wine rack in there! The only minus is that if you get crushed ice, then the next person who gets cubed ice has to clear the dispensing area. So, I'm banned from crushed ice."

"This is the second Samsung Fridge we have purchased. We purchased a similar model five year ago and when we upgraded to stainless steel appliances had to replace the white one with a stainless. "Absolutely Great! I love this Fridge It only took a little while to figure out the controls and after you do it is very simple to operate. Huge amount of room in the freezer side. The only thing I wish it had was a little more adjust-ability in the fridge side. I was a little hesitant when I read one of the reviews that said it was noisy, but after getting this I don't know what they were talking about, this has got to be the quietest fridge I have had. Functional, well designed, and looks sharp too!"

"We've had this refrigerator almost 2 months and so far it's been great. It is very quiet except when the ice falls into the bin and that's to be expected. I like that the ice maker is on the door because it frees up a lot of space in the freezer. The LED lighting is a big plus so it's easy to see the entire interior. I like that the wine rack can easily be removed but right now we use it for soda cans. The bins on the doors are large and hold a lot of items. The only minor complaint I have is that the stainless marks easily and it's a little hard to clean. Also, magnets don't adhere to the front which may be a good thing because there's no clutter to hide the beauty of this refrigerator. However, they do adhere to the sides of the refrigerator for the occasional note."

"We simply love this refrigerator. I love the way the led lights slowly come on when opened. It has worked great. I only wish we could make the freezer warmer...even at the highest setting of 8 degrees, things are just too frozen...we have to let the ice cream sit out on the counter for awhile before we can serve it. It is beyond quiet. No problems at all with dispensers. Still trying to figure out how to keep the stainless steel looking clean... that is tricky."

"My review is probably effected by a couple of things: 1) This replaces a 15+ year-old almond (yuck) 20 cf side-by-side I inherited from my ex; and, 2) it's my first brand new fridge ever.
I had my sights set on a french door bottom freezer but they were out of my price range. After researching Consumer's Report ratings, I decided to go for a a larger side-by-side, particularly LG, Whirlpool Gold or Samsung. This unit gave me everything I wanted for substantially less money.
OK, I've only had it a week but I am absolutely sure I made the right choice. The initial quality is outstanding. The only way I know it's running is everything is as cold as it should be ... it's that quiet! Locating ice maker on the freezer door is ingenious. The LED lighting is especially nice early in the morning or in the middle of the night. I'm already aware food is staying a lot fresher. And it doesn't hurt that it's drop-dead gorgeous!
The only downsides so far are: It could offer a little more shelving flexibility; the wine rack really interferes with the lower shelve; and, the ice maker is very very slow. If you need a lot of ice for a party, you'd better start making and storing ice days in advance or go buy some.
One note: It appeared from the advertised dimensions it would not fit under a standard size kitchen cabinet (the short ones usually installed over a fridge). It does but not by much. Just make sure you've got at least 68 3/4 inches.
I'll come back in a couple of months for a longer-term review."

"Samsung rose to the top in my search for a brand other than my current one. So far so good with my first appliance purchase from them. I have a couple of their TV's and smart phones. "I took delivery of my new refrigerator just under a week ago, so I can't comment on it's long term durability, but I do have other Samsung electronic equipment, which has served me well over the years, so far. Accordingly, I have high hopes that my latest purchase will not disappoint.
After the unit was delivered, and powered up, it reached the desired set temperatures, for both freezer and fridge, within approximately a half hour. I found the instructions in the operating manual to be very easy to follow, and all appears to be working very efficiently, the contents in both the freezer and fridge being kept at a well regulated temperature. It runs very quietly, and I'm very pleased with the aesthetics. Based on my brief experience so far, I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this reasonably priced model to anyone in the market for a new fridge."

"I really love my new fridge. i catch myself looking at it and thinking wow i have a great fridge my only complant is that if your like me i keep a gallon of tea and a gallon of milk (well sometimes 2) and i don't have enough room when i have two gallons of milk and gallon of tea. i keep them in the door because if i move the shelfs to fit the stuff better i will have a differnt shelf with very little space. But i do LOVE MY FRIDGE>"

"The frig is nice and roomy. I like the led lighting and makes the inside of the frig very bright. Lots of room and I like that the ice is on the door and isn't very big (since I don't use that much ice any ways) thus giving us a larger freezer space.
I have 4 complaints about this frig. Number 1, the ice dispenser is horrible; ice flies every where while it is dispensing. Number 2, the water nozzle is pointed into the frig, which make filling big containers that dont fit in the right position impossible (ie large bowls and sports bottles). If it were pointed outwards, I could push the cup pad back with my hand while hold the container in place. Number 3, the ice/water dispenser panel should light up (where it says "Light, Freezer, Ice Type ... etc). If these issues were fixed or included in future models, this would be a perfect frig. Number 4, although the frig is stainless steel, the doors aren't magnetic, so I can put any frig magnets."
Pros: Realistic color, spacious
Cons: ice/water dispenser panel isn't completely lit up

"I agree with others the LED lights in the back of the fridge are a bit different. Didn't think I would be able to clearly see items in the freezer/fridge when items are stacked up in front of them, but you can. Could be brighter because of this design when you have stacked items. It is large. Needed to get used to drawers in the freezer as that is different. We are getting an vibration noise coming from inside (maybe a fan rubbing), probably will call to have looked at. Ice make is a bit louder than my last but cubes and water come out fast and seems to be efficient so far."

"I bought this fridge not knowing how much work i was getting my self into. It came with with scotch tape on several places on the doors. Didn't pay too much attention until after everything was up and running. Several hours later and 3 different types of polish the tape stains are still on the doors! I would buy this unit again but not in stainless Steel!"

"I've had this unit for a over a month now and I LOVE IT! from the space inside, to the L.E.D tower lighting. Haven't used all the features yet but so far its great. Quiet at night. You only hear the regular sounds a fridge would make but it is so low you dont even notice the motor or compressor running. Love the energy saving option."

"Beautiful design and pretty good functionality. It looks much more expensive than it really is. It has been extraordinarily silent so far and reasonably reliable.
The LED lighting is great, the icemaker in the door is a really nice space-saving feature and we have had no issues with quantity for a family of four.
Our power bills have gone down since we got the fridge, which is much appreciated. The only thing we don't love is that the handles squeak/creak every time we open the doors. I heard that some petroleum jelly will fix that. Overall we really like it."

"I love the look and size of this fridge. It is very sleek! I love that the ice maker is in the door...it leaves much more room on the top shelf of the freezer. "Refrigerator is completely what we expected - clean design, LED lights are cool, fits the space we had perfectly and easy to setup & use. However, we've had trouble with the ice maker - we want cubes and, instead, get crushed ice which makes a significant mess. They're sending us a new cube collector - so we hope that eliminates the ONLY negative we've had."

"I love the the way this product looks. The only problems I have with it is: (1) the ice sometimes falls minutes after you've removed your glass, (2) when your glass is under the ice chute small pieces fall to the floor (even if you are getting cubed ice), (3) the doors do not line up perfectly and (4) the glass shelves are cloudy even after cleaning them."

LED lighting: Do not buy this unit just because the LED lights look cool in the store. In your home, with the fridge just half full, the lights appear a bit dim. There is a slight shadow effect also, because the lights are in back, none on top. Samsung, if you're reading, at LEAST add some LED's at the top. That said, the LED brightness issue is nothing something that would keep me from buying again.
We had to exchange our first unit because it hummed and gave a low vibration through the lower level of our wood floor, as if a car was idling in the driveway! The new one has a low hum, but the sound is no longer transmitted like was previous unit. I also noticed other brands have a similar hum, so it may be due to a high efficient compressor cycle.
Good:
The most efficient side by side we could find on the floor. Looks GREAT! Tons of space. Design is top notch. "Quick" freeze and cool option is VERY impressive and nice to have.

Dismiss people complaining about the ice maker getting stuck, because they all do that. The ice and water features work great, but it did drip a lot at first.

"Purchased in March of 2012. Had ice maker replaced after two months but now is fine. Still does not make ice as quickly as my other unit. LED lights are fine but still do not know why they are all in the back so that food blocks the lighting. Two of the plastic drawers/shelves are cracked but samsung is replacing them for me. Overall OK but I can tell the plastic components are going to be a continual issue. They seem flimsy but all refrigerators have them these days."

"I have only had this refrigerator for over a month. After the first day the refrigerator started leaking. Samsung sent out a technician and he could not find the problem since it stopped by the time he arrived. A few days before Christmas I was using the ice maker and I noticed that evening my refrigerator was leaking again. I think this product has a problem with making ice without leaking. I am going to request another technician but this is crazy I have to do this for a brand this is suppose to be known for a great product."

"I purchased this refrigerator along with a Samsung range. I have had countless problems with the range, but I am going to try to be objective with the fridge. I settled for this fridge based on price and availability when I needed it. I was remodeling and had some time constraints. Overall, the appearance of this unit is nice. It is large, but very simple stainless side by side. It keeps things cold and has a nice eco-button that helps save energy. There are no other features that really stand out that would make me say “Yes! Buy this item!”
The only issues I have with it include:
The icemaker is VERY loud. Be prepared. It is also a little difficult to take out and put back in.
The buttons are sensitive and I have accidently put it into DEMO mode… that was not fun.
The main issue – very poor shelf design. If you want to stand a 2 liter bottle or large beverage up in it, you better start rearranging. I actually have one shelf right below another making it completely useless. That was the only way to really put anything tall inside of the fridge. You can put milk and taller items in the door, but as most know, that does not stay as cool as the inside and things are likely to spoil faster.

1) The rubber pieces that seal the doors, I believe they are called gaskets, were sub-par. I had to work the rubber with a warm wet cloth in order to get them to fully expand in order to properly seal the doors. In addition, the doors were sticking out unevenly as a result of the insufficiency. I placed a service order and repairman came out and haven't had any issues ever since.
2) The ice dispenser. The chute where the ice comes out of the ice maker and then into the water/ice dispenser keeps freezing/frosting; which, unfortunately, obstructs ice from being delivered. I originally had the temperature set to the recommended setting of -4 degrees Farenheit, but adjusted the temperature to a warmer setting with the hope that this might solve the problem. The problem persisted. I also went through all of the troubleshooting steps in order to correct this problem and that didn't help either. I've placed a service order with Samsung and a repairman will be at my house on Thursday May 3rd. I can only hope that this problem can be fixed.

"This is actually a nice refrigerator. But, the ice maker is horrible. Crushed ice comes out cubed (see video). It backs up a lot. And, the inside of it has a lot of built up frost- which probably clogs it. There was some complaints about the ice maker that I read in reviews. I should have listened. Also, a week after I got the refrigerator, I was cleaning the door with a soft cloth and stainless steel polish. The cloth caught the "S" on the Samsung decal, and took the "S" off. I now have an "AMSUNG." One more thing- the top shelf is low, you will not be able to fit 2 liters or gallons of milk on ANY of the shelves, so keep the shelves on the door clear! Kinda odd, really."

"I purchased this refrigerator on Nov. 11, 2011 and on Jan 5, 2012 it stopped cooling in the fridge part. I called for service and service come out and looked at it said that I needed a new fan motor, they ordered a new fan. 1wk later they come back to install the fan and said it was working that night it stopped cooling called service 1wk later they come back said I need new circuit board and sensors. It is now Feb. 3, 2012 and I still do not have a refrigerator to use and the parts are still not here to fix it. I would strongly recomend you do not buy this refrigerator."

"Looks great but sometimes we have trouble with the frig controlling it's temp. Sometimes things don't feel as cold and sometimes they freeze and we've never changed the setting."

"I would have enjoyed this refrigerator, it being the first "fancy" fridge I have bought. A piece broke off the sliding drawer assembly the day of delivery, when we put a draw back in place. It was repaired a week later. Now, approximately 3 weeks after delivery (but unfortunately more than 30 days after purchase) the icemaker is broken. It is not producing ice in any normal quantity; we might as well not have one. I am so disappointed, because the online reviews were decent (except for the icemaker issue), and it is a nice piece of equipment to grace our new home. It's big enough to store most of what we need refrigerated, although I use a separate freezer and in the future I'll probably get a French door fridge owing to the somewhat narrow refrigerator side. The final problem I'm having is that I just cannot keep the stainless steel clean. I wish the product came with a full size stainless steel cleaner, as did my oven, or had a protective coating to keep it clean."
Pros: Realistic color, water spout deep for water bottles, easy to open doors
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, cheap drawer mechanisms, drawers hard to remove, hard to get external shipping plastic wrap off, hard to clean

"Ice maker deisgn is poor and barely functional. Storage of ioce is great but production rate is not enough to support a 2 person family. Might be that ice maker is in the door. Lighting also is barely adequate with lots of shadows once you load the refigerator"

"I echo any remarks about the ice maker being horrible. It will produce about 1/4 of the bin in about a full day. Not nearly enough to keep up with normal demand. The fridge itself is sleek and has sufficient space. The plastic that they wrap to protect the fridge in the box needs to be surgically removed. Other than that the appliance does it's job."

"Control panel is way too difficult.
Refrig side is very dark inside, only 6 small LED lights clustered in the rear between 2nd and 3rd shelves. Crazy, but the freezer side has 9 LEDs and they are clustered around the center back wall.

Too deep for cabinets, unit sticks out 10 inches into the kitchen."

"I expected better from samsung, I bought a samsung appliance, and have had several problems, appliance was purchase Nov 2011, and have had to call repairman twice, and it's only Jan 2012 now. And had to replace food that was ruined."
