"The Samsung replaced a GE Profile fridge/freezer that was problematic in its second year, required 3 warranty repairs and eventually died after 7 years. In the the time we had it we never had good control over the fridge temperature.

The Samsung is amazing with individual electronic thermastatic control of fridge and freezer temperature. Some say the ice maker capacity is small, but have never managed to empty it yet! The LED lighting is very cool. Overall thoroughly recommended."

"I love my Samsung side by side refrig. It has designs that are sinple to use , just what I prefer.. The clear view ice maker is great , you can see how much ice you have or need immediately without having to move anything, the sliding shelf also makes it easier to get into other places in the fridge. The lighting is perfect no glaring lights. The features of the water filter is wonderful with the reminder of when to change the filter.The water and ice dispenser makes it easy to get exactly what you want with the touch of a finger. The space is unbelievable., I especially love the features of places for bottles of wine or whatever. Thanks Samsung! I am so happy to have found your product. I have gotten rid of the dinosaur I once owned."

"Hi--

We took delivery of our new Samsung side-by-side last week and love it--for the most part. As a previous reviewer mentioned, there is not enough room for a gallon-size container, either on the door or shelves (the shelf height will not allow it to fit on the shelves unless the half-shelf is used). If the bottom shelf were also adjustable, perhaps taller containers could be made to fit comfortably.

And the issue of not being able to open the freezer door all the way because of the way the door pivots was not pointed out by the salesperson, which would have been appreciated. Now, even though the refrigerator is counter-depth, we had to pull it away from the back wall so the door would clear the wall on the side of the unit.

I'm amazed at the amount of storage the refrigerator has, compared to my old one, which had two cubic feet less space. Except for the too-low shelf height, the design is exceptional. We would highly recommend it."

"I really like this unit, I have had it for about a year now without any major issues. I love the lighting and the counter depth size. I rated performance at a 4 because the ice maker is slow to produce ice and we often run out when we have company. I rated the design a 4 because the doors have to open more than 90 degrees to access any of the drawers in the fridge or freezer."

Ice despensing concern

"Ice dispensing is not immediate. It take about 5 seconds for the refrigerator to respond to the switch activation and about 8 seconds before any ice is dispensed. The switch has to be depressed just right to activate the system.

It takes 2 hands to hand to remove items from the butter tray. One to hold the lid open and the other to remove item.

Storage baskets require the door to be fully open to remove items such as a head of lettuce or cauliflower.

On a positive note, perishable goods have a longer shelf life than other refrigerators I have used."

"I like everthing about this refrigerator BUT it doesn't produce enough ice. I checked everything that could be wrong. Went online to see if anyone else had this problem. It says somewhere that it takes 90min to produce a tray of ice. Well the little size of the ice maker only spits out 7 ice cubes. 7 cubes every 1 1/2 hours isn't enough in the summer. If ice isn't a issue for you, then everything else works fine."

"Just got ours last week. Love it, but having to get used to some changes. Cannot fit plastic milk jug on shelf unless you move the half shelf back. Hubby likes milk COLD so putting milk on the door is not an option. Discovered that you can fit more stuff below 1/2 shelf if you remove the half that is pushed back. Just remove screws on the side and slide it out.
something to consider when buying a counter depth - if you are placing the fridge next to a wall you will not be able to push it back to counter depth unless you don't mind not being able to open the door all the way and get into drawers."

"On the positive side, a good product, efficient cooling/freezing, just the right amount of electronic displays, good storage space for its size. On the not so positive side, the ice maker is ridiculously slow (it takes 48 hrs to fill its small ice container), the back lighting gets obstructed when the refrigerator is full of stuff, the ice/water dispencer buttons obstruct the ice/water container (you need to bend to make sure that the ice/water does not overlow) and the product is kind of overpriced."

"There must be a bad senor in this thing. It cooled down once then did not again until i unplugged it. The display claimed it was cold but it was defrosting. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and the same thing happened. No cold air blow at all. It must cool by osmosis, If it is not fixed soon they will hear about it."
