"I got this phone about a few days ago and I love it so much! It's the best basic phone you can get thats just like a smartphone, but no data plan. Although there is one con, the camera isn't the best. i know it's only 3.2 mp but they could have at least put in auto focus or something but over all, best phone ever!"

"This phone is the perfect fit for me being a vigorous texter the slide out keyboard is what I wanted the most so I love that feature but it is also very sleek looking and not the bulky for a keyboard phone. I do not use this phone for the internet so I dont have any opinions on that but everything else is flawless. I would not change anything at all. If you do want internet though this may not be for you because it is not a smartphone. but for a basic phone two thumbs up!"

"I love this phone. This is the smartest basic phone I have ever had. Its as close to a smart phone as you can get without actually having one. You don't have to have a data plan but you can still access 3G and get online, friend networks, and get basic phone games. If you don't want to access these all the time then you don't have to have the data package. If you do want to use it all the time I would suggest a smart phone so you can view websites better. If you just want to access the web for a couple things in a pinch this is great. I like the calendar feature. The alarm is simple to operate and get to. All the features of this phone are easy. The only thing I was dissapointed on was the camera. Pictures taken outside are pretty good, but inside they get blury if your subject moves. I do like the speaker phone, the speakers are loud and I can hear the caller clearly in the car. It is a little slippery so I reccomend getting a cover, much easier to hold onto. I do wish I could add a background, its perminantly on the menu. But you can add a background pic to what I guess would be called the screen saver. Its not a big deal to me, but some reviews I read online it bothered them. That was the only negative thing I found online. Bottom line, the phone is amazing!"

"This phone is fantastic with it's bluetooth connectivity to my car's audio system. It works flawlessly. In addition, the voice commands feature makes it a truly hands-free phone. The touch screen is inconsistent and not very reliable. I'm still learning all the features and so far, I'm very impressed by its performance. Battery life seems to be pretty good as long as I plug it in at night. I like this phone!"

"Phone is very solid. Great features. The only issue is the design on how the keyboard is pulled out. Once and a while if you "fat finger" the top of the touch screen while pulling out the keyboard you may hit a key to either call someone or open an app. Other than that small issue this is a great phone."

"Finally found a basic phone worth getting. We needed a 2nd phone just for texting & calling and hasn't been worth getting rid of the old Lg EnV3 until now. This phone, has upgraded look, feel, and features. Hard to find a basic phone with touchscreen & qwerty. This one looks good, many features, and works great!! THank you Samsung and thank you Best Buy for the great price... I understand why they can't keep them in stock."

"This phone is meant for people who wants to talk and text. Despite the boring games, this game is very well crafted for texting. It has very comfortable buttons, and is very fast with the sending, The camera isn't too great (considering its only 3.2 megapixels), so don't let the advertisement fool you. The screen is very clear and bright, so don't worry about the sun messing up your view. The speakers are very loud and clear.I've dropped this phone over 20 times on wood, carpet, concrete, ect. I truly think this phone is unbreakable. The durability is jaw dropping. The phone is pretty light, although you can feel some weight. Overall, this phone gets a yes by me. Its totally worth it and meets my requirements. I hope to get future updates in the future."

"A note before I start, this is NOT a smart phone, so if you're expecting that, you will be disappointed. However, this is probably the closest feature phone you will find to a smart phone right now.
I just got the Brightside a few days ago, and here's what I think so far. Overall, it's pretty easy to use. I like that you can switch the view from the "grid menu" (that is not customizable) to the "short cut menu" that includes favorites (allows for 1 touch dialing/texting) and that 8 celled grid is customizable. I like that the micro sd card slot is behind the battery case, keeping it safer than the tabs on some of the older phones did (as they could break off). I like the locking feature on this phone. I feel like it's easy to use and the phone won't be activated and waste battery power if you bump the screen or any of the buttons except for the lock or the power buttons. Call quality and texting all seem to work like any other phone. This is my first touch screen phone, but so far I like it. Sometimes it is more responsive than I'd like (and occasionally I have to hit a button twice), but this is most likely user error. This touch screen is responsive to your skin rather than to pressure. You don't have to push hard, but you cannot use the touch screen while wearing gloves.
I do not use this phone for the internet (in fact, I have the internet blocked on my phone because I don't want to be charged for accidental usage), so I can't say anything about it's internet capabilities. However, between work and home, I've never lost my 3G signal that is always displayed above the service signal bar.
The pros for this phone:
+ Ease of use for any tech savvy person (may be confusing at first for first time users)
+ Has touch screen
+ Has physical side out qwerty keyboard
+ Includes driving mode (reads name of caller/texter and text message)
+ Custom alarms available
+ Picture quality is decent compared to other feature phones (not smart phones) and can go to full screen
+ Favorites option available in short cut menu (as opposed to grid menu) and speed dial available
+ Ease of use for any tech savvy person (may be confusing at first for first time users)

+ Has physical side out qwerty keyboard

I keep my phone on at work in case of emergencies, so I want to hear it when I have a phone call....but if it's a text, I don't need to look at it immediately. When it goes off 3 times, I think that it is a phone call. It's also annoying when I'm in class and my phone vibrates that much for just a text. I don't know if this is just a Samsung thing (my Intensity II did the same thing) or what because none of my other phones have vibrated more than once. Either way, I find it really irritating.
- T9 feature for word suggestions covers up part of the text when the text is long.
- Is easily switched from picture to video mode. I've missed out on pictures because I didn't realize it was set to video (which I've not used on purpose yet)"

"I love this phone! it has a great touchscreen but I don't like the menu layout I wish it was like the Samsung reality. it needs a real wallpaper. I love the way you can unlock it different ways and how its so customizable. but I wish it had different display themes other than orange and green.

"I bought this phone yesterday and wanted to present my initial impressions. First of all, I think that this is the next best thing to a smart phone without enduring the extra cost of a data plan. The touch screen, in my opinion, is too sensative, with a little practice it is OK. I found it very easy to set up and after reading the on -line manual, found most of the features easy to work. I plan to write another review after I have used the phone for a month or so."

"This phone has ample features and a nice camera. I have taken some very good photos and videos with it even inside Ripley's Aquarium in the Smokey's. The touch screen is a little sensitive and takes some getting use to but otherwise I think this is a great phone for the money. Bonus, I don't need to get a data plan."

"I bought this device about a week ago, but didnt write a review until the "its new and shiny" wore off. After it did I still thought it was preety god, but it needs many software improvements like a pin lockable lock screen. "I've used the same Samsung cell phone for about 6 years and loved it, but decided it was time to upgrade. I'm so glad I until now or I'd not have had the choice of the Brightside since it's so new to the market. I wanted a Basic Phone and most phones in that category were in every sense of the word "basic". I wanted a QWERTY slide out keyboard, touch screen, good camera etc., and this fulfilled all I wanted and more. As with any change it takes a while to learn all the features, but I'm plugging away."

"I've had this phone for a couple of months now. So far it is mostly what I expected. I wasn't ready to graduate to a smart phone but I wanted a pull out keyboard and a phone that I could get email alerts on as well as check on FB posts. So far I've been happy with it. It does have a few unfortunate quirks though.
1. The phone blacks out while listening to voicemail messages so if you have to press #1, for instance, to listen to messages you have to move your finger over the phone to bring it to the screen again and you have to find the keypad button to bring that up and press one, all before the phone times out for your message.
2. When you want to attach a picture to a text you can't do it from the pictures/video section. Even though I can select the picture and even though there is an option to send, it can't be done on my phone. Nothing happens when I hit send. I have to go to my text messaging option then attach the picture.
3. The touch screen is super sensitive and I used to accidentally dial a favorite contact. I fixed this by giving each contact an option for call or text, so it can't automatically dial anyone now.
Other than that it's a good phone for the price."

"Other than the poor video resolution and a couple minor things, I think that the BrightSide is almost the perfect phone for me that isn't a smart phone. It’s almost like a smart phone without having to get a data plan. Below are some of my comments about the Brightside.
1) In my opinion, the video resolution is poor. I didn't expect it to be that low. I would have liked a better camera resolution also.
2) It doesn't look like a picture can be taken in “portrait” mode. Also, there is no flash.
3) When I open my picture gallery and the picture has the arrows on the side, I can “slide” through my different pictures if I touch the current picture. By touching the current picture, it also zooms it. If I pick the zoom option when a picture has the arrow to the sides, the picture zooms, but does not let me “slide” through my other pictures. I didn't see anything about this in the manual.
4) The phone has a display and phone lock. I do a phone lock, even though it doesn't make sense to me that I have to enter the security code to lock the phone, because the display lock button is in a poor location. If I do a display lock, I usually end up touching the display unlock button. They should have made the display lock not something so easily accessible.
5) When charging the phone, I can't tell when the phone is fully charged unless I unlock the display. When I check the screen, all I see is something saying to unplug the charger to save power.
6) It appears that Samsung has software that can be used to sync Outlook to the BrightSide. Samsung has Kies, Mini Kies, and New PC Studio, but I don't know what to use. I found this by accident, nothing in the manual.
7) I have the text mode set to “Abc”. I usually double space between sentences when texting. If I go one space after the period, it stays “Abc”. If I go two spaces, it goes to “abc”. I like double spacing.
8) It doesn't look like you can use a microphone that is included with a wired headset.
9) There is a place for a strap attachment, but there is no info on what would work. I think that the phone would be easy to drop and a strap would help with that.
10) The charging cable is also a data cable. I figured that I would mention this because I did not see it anywhere in the documentation.
11) The manual and Samsung says that you can only use a microSD memory card, but you can use a microSDHC card.
12) I sent myself a text message with some phone numbers in it from an email address. When I opened the text message, the phone recognized the numbers as phone numbers. I touched a phone number and I was asked if I wanted to call the number. I like this.
13) I have big hands, but have no problem using the QWERTY keyboard. The top row of the keyboard is too close to top of the phone when it is open though. The keyboard is one of the reasons that I bought the phone. A lock on sliding open the keyboard would have been nice.
14) I like how the Brightside can “read” text messages.
15) I like Notepad. It comes in handy saving info sometimes.
16) The voice recognition works well for me.
17) It would be nice if I could set any menu option (like phone lock) to the main screen.
18) I got a "skin" for the phone, but can't use the bottom (battery) part because I got the extended battery. I just use the top part (around screen) to make it easier to grip and to help protect the screen.
19) The manual could be a little more informative.
20) The SAR ratings appear to be around the lowest that I saw.
21) I turn my phone of at night. If I got a text message while the phone was off, the phone would give a "stored message" date and time. I like this feature.
22) If I hold my figure on a text message a "copy" screen would come up and I could select text with my finger, but I don't know what I can do with this. I couldn't find anything in the manual about it."

"I like this phone. It is like a smartphone but not as advanced or expensive as others. Good battery life and neat features. The one thing that bugs me is you cannot customize the background. It is always the stupid menu grid in orange or green. The only way to see the wallpaper is when the phone is locked. I really wish they would come up with a software update to fix this."

"If I could merge my Samsung Brightside with my Samsung Reality, I'd be in heaven!!! Customization is absolutely lacking in this phone, which was a huge disappointment. I find I'm getting used to not being able to choose my own background, though. Call clarity seems to be great (altho maybe my old phone was just terrible). Ringtones that come with it are great, kinda suprised me. Nothing to say so far about the camera/camcorder. HTML browser stinks... Opera Mini is what I had on my Reality and it was fine, seems a bit jerky on the Brightside. Just overall I was kinda disappointed, and I've owned Samsung cell phones for 8 years now. Cmon Samsung, we expect better of you!!!"

"I've had the phone for about a month and a half now and I can only complain about 1 thing: the lagging. Everything is great, from the design, to touch screen settings to voice clarity and ease of use. But I still can't get over how much it lags. If you're a serious texter like myself I would debate getting this phone. I have to delete my texts everyday just to help it from lagging. It still does and badly needs a software update. Still waiting patiently for that to come out."

Cons: lagging, case prevents my from using numbers on keyboard

"I have owned this phone for two weeks now and there are a few issues that Samsung can hopefully fix with a software update.
1. No display lock - You cannot lock the display. The instructions state that you can, but by simply swiping your finger across the screen the phone is full accessible. There needs to be the ability to enter a lock code or this feature is useless.
2. Dialing on it's own - I had the phone in my pocket and while walking along my hip starts yelling HELLO... HELLO. I quick pull out the phone to find that the last person I called had been listening to my pocket change for the past 90 seconds.
3. Screen sensitivity - I noticed that apps would sometime start on their own if my hands or the screen weren't really clean. It would be nice if the sensitivity could be adjusted.

If Samsung can fix the display lock issue then the second issue isn't really a big deal. I know you can lock the phone by going through the menu settings but you can still dial out. This really defeats the purpose of a "Lock" feature.
Overall, I really like the phone and would recommend it to a freind. I would like to see some additional themes because orange or green just doesn't cut it. It would be really nice to have either basic colors or a wallpaper for the background. The call quality is nice and the speakerphone works really well in the car. With past phones people have a hard time hearing me but this is the first phone that everyone can hear me clearly."

"People need to remember that the Brightside is a "Basic" phone, not a "Smart phone". If you want just the basics, this is a good phone. I too wish it had more apps available, too bad. 4 stars because it is just a "basic" phone. It's all I can afford. Nice!"

"This is a feature packed "basic phone" but samsung still has work to do. It is very much like a smartphone w/out the high price tag & it features a HTML web browser.
Heres my complaints that i hope they will address:
1. those stupid black shaded bars that appear behind the Clock & Banner's, u cant turn them off (no matter what samsung tells u, i tried everything suggested & even got a different phone) SO ANNOYING
2. nobody knows what the "transition effect" actually does, i can find No difference's On/Off
3. even w/Mobile email alerts OFF it still alerts me w/icon every time i get a new email
4. ONLY 2 Themes....Orange or Green (yuck)"

"I have owned this phone for almost 2 years. It is definitely pretty durable. I drop it a LOT, and it still works decently. The edges are pretty scuffed, but nothing major. Whenever I drop it the back and the battery both come flying out, even if I only drop it from about a foot high.
I am not a fan of the camera, though. It is a good phone for texting, calling, and other simple tasks (calculator, stopwatch, notes, etc) The touch screen loves to unlock in my pocket and call people. You can set a background for the lock screen, but once you unlock it you can't have a picture in the background like most phones. Mine shuts off randomly. Lots of times when I get a call or text it doesn't ring, I have to unlock it first then it shows a missed call or new text message even though it didn't ring.
The web browser works fine for me, although it could be a little faster. You can bookmark pages and out them on the home screen, which I like. The camcorder can record up to 10 minutes of video.
The music player is good for a phone. The pros:
-it's relatively easy to get music onto
-it can hold a lot of music
-there are playlists, and you can create a playlist on the phone
-you can search through the music you have
-you can choose lots of effects such as: bass booster, music clarity, concert hall, rock, pop, jazz, etc...
The cons:
-it takes a long time to open when you have a lot of music, and if you accidentally click on it you cannot cancel it, you have to wait about 30 seconds for it to open.
-I cannot figure out how to make it recognize the genre, cover art, or artist
I cannot find any decent cases for it, but I have an awesome screen protector.
Overall if you're looking for a simple, beginner phone that can do simple tasks and has a decent music player and camera, this is an OK phone, although I could recommend some better ones (but I'm not allowed to include info about other companies :P)"

"I purchased this phone June 1, 2012 to renew my phone Contract. The phone I really want brought back is th EnV phones. This phone does look like a smart phone without the expensive DATA plan. I am not happy about a few things
1. The wallpaper being the Menu BAR? Really, I liked my old phone when I could put my Grandchildren on it.
2. The CAMERA can not zoom when taking pictures---What camera does not zoom today--OH right the Samsung Briteside.
3. when the phone is locked for the touch screen, I have my Grandchildrens picture only to see this UGLY smoked colored bar right over their beautiful faces. Please update your software to fix these problems.
4. not sure about the alarm not working, have not used it, but I am sure it is like the othere phones....not working properly."

"Good: 3.2 MP camera. Big, bright screen. Doesn't require a data package ($$$) through certain providers. Music/sound quality from God.
Bad: No way to calibrate or adjust touch-screen settings, which seem dull to begin with. Can't listen to music while accessing anything else on the phone. When choosing music by an artist, the songs are listed alphabetically and not by album - why? SLOW transitions between screens (a "message sent" alert that stays on the screen for a solid 2 seconds after each text - who has time for that?). Really annoying (and slow) three-buzz text vibrate that should have been phased out years ago. When my phone is on vibrate only, I have to wait until the fourth ring before I know that it's a call and not just a text.
The bottom line: This is an attractive phone that is mechanically sound and easy to figure out. However it is too simple, dated, and un-customizable for the modern user. My 2009 Chocolate Touch is better in most ways and was cheaper too."

"The alarm and calendar reminders do not work. I've tried several times to get the alarm to work and it only does on an intermittent basis. It never goes off in the morning when I need it to. The call quality and texting are good."

"I love the concept of this phone. It is a great alternative for those who want a little bit more than a basic phone but not a smartphone/phone that would require a data plan. I was mainly interested in this phone for the Querty keyboard.
Unfortunately, the ALARM doesn't work. At first I thought I was sleeping through my morning alarm, but I ran some tests, and it is not working. I guess this is a problem others are having too. There is also issues with the calendar alerts. I know that the alarm worked initially, but I have tested it a few times, and it no longer works. I have only had this phone for a month or 2. I use my phone alarm as my morning alarm. I never had this problem with my previous LG phone. The Brightside is Very unreliable and disappointing. I hope a software update will come out to fix the glitch. Then maybe I might have more praise for it. Until then..."

"However it is not made for everyone. While it does a lot of things right it also has some obviously bad issues. For example while the touch screen itself functions very well the locking system that protects the screen can be a nuisance. It can be activated very easily to the point were it seems to go off in your pocket constantly. This is because of the poor decision to make the main menu the home screen. This can be a major pain for anyone used to normal phones. This causes a massive lack in customization.The camera could be better its visuals are very low. Now this phone is one of the best for those who want a very good phone that is not a smart phone it has a lot of features such as a opera browser installed. It is also capable of downloading basic apps. It also has a very good text base with a large keyboard and call quality is perfect. Yet once again looming issues cause a decrease in value another example is the screen itself is not protected well while its okay to not have gorilla glass it seems the overall screen can break very easily compared to other touch screen phones. "For a teen between the ages of 13-15 i would say this phone is great. Anyone beyond that age i would not suggest the phone, unless it was 60+ and they really wanted a touch screen."

"I might recommend this to a friend, but only after explaining the negatives. It's not a top level phone, in my opinion. It could have been great and is only so-so.
I have had this phone for two weeks. It was an upgrade from the 820, which I loved. However the 820 battery was failing and I got talked into the 380.
PRO: The screen is bigger and wider than other QWERTY phones I have used. However, comments you may have seen about the lousy viewing angles on the screen are accurate. I bought an anti-glare filter and it seems to help.
CON: I was told this phone had a very responsive touch screen. I have found it to be less than responsive. I frequently have to hit "buttons" several times to get the phone to react. When buttons are near the edges of the screen this is especially noticeable. I am female and have small hands. What men with big fngers do I have no idea, it's pretty irritating.
PRO: The browser does indeed seem faster. One big plus for this model is email. I have two web accounts set up and the phone display provides a tab for each one. I can easily go back and forth between them.
CONS: The phone is not particularly well organized. Navigation is not always intuitive. I don't like the grid home screen. Some customization is possible but not nearly as much as the 820 and you only get one screen to set up oft-used options.
For example: speaker phone. Where is it? only within the call options, while in the call. You can't set the phone on speaker within sound settings, which is simply mind-boggling.
BIG CON: Battery life, though advertised as when not in use up to 14 hours, has been noticeably poor for me. Even after a full charge, within a few hours the phone drops to 3 bars on the battery charge icon. In less than 24 I'm down to two.
CON: The phone, when opened to the keyboard, seems top-heavy. I like the keyboard, it has a nice feel, but the function key has been put in the bottom left corner. Using it to get symbols then means the top heaviness becomes an annoyance. The Fn key should be higher up.
PRO: it is nice to have the Star key for favorite contacts right there on the keyboard. But since one would almost certainly use the Fn key far more often, why aren't they reversed, location-wise?
Calls have functioned fine, no drops so far.
One design plus is no more of the little mini-clips you have to open out to plus in the charger or headphones, leaving them at risk of breaking off. The charger opening is in the bottom edge of the phone, very conventient. No clip.
CON/PRO: The camera seems sort of okay, not great. An annoyance is when one takes a picture, the phone files it away. To do anything with it, such as send a message, the primary reason I take cell phone pics, I have to close the camera, go into My Pictures and wait for them to load, or start up text messaging and load the photo that way.
If you like to have your own photo as wallpaper on the open screen, know that it has a big date/time bar right below the halfway point, vertically. Good luck seeing your loved one's face. You can't move it or make the font size smaller.
This was the best choice at the time for a feature phone; if there had been another choice, even for higher price, knowing what I know now I would pick the other one. This phone is liveable but I won't ever get to the point of raving about it."

"It's a nice little phone that looks high tech but for the non-tech people that just want to have a touch screen. I bought this for my mother-in-law and she really likes it but unfortunately it lacks ethnicity since it does not accept special characters when getting a text (she speaks spanish and gets texts in spanish that she cant read because one accent messes the whole text). By special characters I mean accents and symbols that may be from a different language. Other than that a great little thing."

"FEEL THIS PHONE HAS MANY EXCITING FEATURES FOR A BASIC PHONE. BUT THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE PHONE APPS ARE WAY TOOOOOOOOOO SENSITIVE & DOES THINGS THAT I DID NOT EVEN TOUCH ON THE PHONE. IT ESPECIALLY CALLS VOICE MAIL WITHOUT TOUCHING THAT APP. IT SEEMS THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I UNFORTUNATELY HAVE TO RETURN THE PHONE. SAMSUNG, PLEASE ADD A SETTING THAT WOULD ADJUST THE SENSITIVITY.

"I wish so much that I never got this phone. The screen is oversensitive sometimes where it will bring up apps on its own, take pictures with barely touching it, etc. Then other times when I am trying to send a text and you type in the first couple of letters and it brings up a choice for you, then I have to touch it like 4 times before it finally realizes it! It will dial numbers on it's own in your pocket. The battery from day one is only good for 2 days maximum. Then the only two choices of the menu screen are the hideous orange or the green. Yuck!! The only plus about this phone is the keyboard. I do like how big it is and that the keys bubble up so I make very few mistakes when typing on it. That is the ONLY thing I like about it!! All I can say is buyer beware!! I wish so much I could take it back but it is past the 14 day grace period."

Cons: Did not meet expectations, unpredictable touch screen, ugly menu background color, short battery life

"I am having a hard time finding any good apps for this phone. Also, It dials and goes to browser on it's own; even if it is just sitting on the table. It also shuts down on it's own a lot. I would like to upgrade but was told that I couldn't until my 2 year contract is up? Not sure if that is true...still looking into it. Gotta get a different phone. This one does not do enough for me! Willing to try another Samsung...I think this one was a mistake."

"The volume button on the side keeps getting bumped and you can't lock it, so you can turn the volume to nothing and not know it if you don't look at the screen and see the icon. When sliding open it is very easy to let the thumb slip, touch and icon and you're off to where ever. The worst thing is that with just a couple of tweaks from Samsung all of this could be fixed. Also I getting requests from other companies about trying things I don't want. I just want to make, receive phone calls and send and receive text messages. Nothing more or less. I can wait until I get home to do the email, etc. Wish I had remember when I bought it so I could have taken it back before the 30 days were up. It needs to have a way to lock the icons or buttons so you don't accidentally push them. Wish I had flip phone back."

"The phone looks nice, and has a bright display with decent size for the buttons on the slide-out QWERTY, and the sound quality is good. The phone is durable and the the screen does not get many scratches. But that is all that is good with this phone. It contantly unlocks by itself. I have learned to never keep this phone in my pocket, because this phone will send calls to anyone on my contact list. If it is not sending calls, it is getting on the internet. I got this phone from Verizon as an option for a no data plan needed type of phone, in other words, I don't want to ever get on the internet with it. There is no way to securely password lock the phone each time after I am done with it except going through the menu then phone settings, then security, then type the security code, and then finally pressing "lock phone now". That is too many steps to get the password to be enabled each time. There is no homescreen that shows a nice picture and a menu icon, instead after the phone is unlocked I immediately get the menu. This would be fine if the phone didn't unlock on its own and if the phone didn't have a super sensitive touch screen that makes the phone send calls. There is no multitasking between the music player and using other functions of the phone, for example: I can't listen to music and send a text at the same time. The camera has no zoom capabilities and no flash, but the quality of pictures is good. Viewing pictures in text messages is annoying because the pictures are always too small. Lastly, the backlight sensor does not work they way it should when taking into acount bright and dim light."

"The Brightside is the worst cell phone I've ever used and I've been using for over 20 years.
The worst thing it does is cut calls off when I try to remove from any type of holster. The button on the right side on the bottom,face of the phone powers the phone down and it is almost impossible to remove it from the holster without hitting the buttom."

"I have had a Samsung Brightside phone for roughly 6-7 months. Overall the design of the phone is very nice, I like the Qwerty keyboard and split screen feature. However, I have had several major issues with this device. Since I first purchased this device in March of 2011, I have had issues with the phone shutting down while texting. I returned two devices for the same reason, now, on the third device I am having the same issue. Additionally, I can no longer use the power button on my device to turn it off. Very unhappy with this phone's memory storage and camera as well. I would not recommend this phone to anyone."

"If you need a phone that has an alarm or calendar reminder that will work- this is NOT the phone to get. I have a diabetic cat and he needs shots 2 times a day. I kept missing the time because the alarm did not go off. Got a second phone and it has the same problem.
I will say they worked fine for maybe 2 weeks, then stopped."

"I have had so many complaints about the sound on this phone. The only way people can clearly hear me speak is if I take the phone away from my ear & actually speak into the microphone. Lousy design. I bought the phone hoping it would have better sound -- very disappointing.
When I use the internet from it is efficient UNTIL a text or call comes in & then the thing totally freezes up & will not unfreeze unless I remove the battery.
The saving of texts seems to be extremely limited. It seems to run out of memory very quickly even though I clean up my text messages several times each day.
There are definitely bugs in this phone -- I couldn't recommend it to anyone - - sorry!"

"Like any other phone, this one has its pros and cons. I have had this phone for 3 days, and it already stinks!!! I do NOT recommend this phone.
PROS:
(1) Has creative "settings" or "ways" of taking pictures (including taking several pictures in one picture - using "Mosaic"),
(2) erases multiple pictures at once (unlike my old phone), &
(3) conserves power simply by pressing the button on the upper right hand corner.
