"Upgraded through my cell carrier. Like the screen and features, but the screen is so sensitive it dials or hangs up as I am talking. I take the phone out of the case, and it hangs up on the call because of the placement of the buttons. I have to answer the phone and immediately lock the keyboard. The unit also resets itself whenever it feels like it. Put it on to charge overnight and sometimes it shows it is charging, but in the morning it is dead as a doornail. It took a while for everything to get me truly annoyed, and by then the carrier will not let me trade it in."

"I have had this phone for two years now, and I don't have many complaints. I drop at least twice daily, and it still hasn't broken at all. The only poblem is, after a while, it became hard to text or play games because it either doen't register that you're pressing on the screen or it registers in the wrong place. Over all, it's the best phone I've had so far."

"Sorry to say - I really hate this phone! It looked so cool in the store, but I've come real close to throwing it out the window. Probably the worst feature is the speaker phone. If your cheek just brushes against the touchscreen, the speaker phone turns on - but it doesn't turn off that easily. Really a pain! Also, navigating all of it's features is not very intuitive; it has a user's manual that's over 100 pages! Come on - it's just a phone! I just find it to be a very annoying piece of electronics."

"I only used this phone for a few months before I replaced it. It was an awesome phone when it would work properly. I had a lot of problems with it just staying on. It would turn itself off and give me no warning, then I would miss calls and alerts, which was extremely annoying and inconvenient. I would not recommend this phone if you rely on it for work."

"I got this phone because I needed an upgrade and it was cheap, easy to read and I had Samsung phones before. I don’t have data, navigator etc. on it so I have no idea how well that works. I don’t have a problem hearing it or hearing calls. The touch screen is not always co-operative and I get a lot of typos as it doesn’t always display what I touch. (Have to touch above what I want.)
Big issue for me is it doesn’t work with the bluetooth on the computer and it’s been nearly impossible to locate a cable. (Still don’t have one.) While I like the readability I wouldn’t get another. It’s far too problematic for my tastes.
Overall, I was disappointed in this product as it did not live up to the history I've had with other Samsung phones."

"I've had this cell phone for about two years now and while I have my complaints about it, it really is a solid phone if you're looking for something basic and not fancy. It gets the job done. Multi-tasking button.
Good things: Dedicated camera button, decent size, customizable application widget. Decent for texting and Facebook and any site that has a mobile version. Great alarm function.
Bad things: Call quality is typically good...except for when you hear this occasional crackling. My fix was to give it a nice couple thwacks with my finger. Every now and then it'll run slow and you end up opening something you didn't want to. Granted I've had a case on it, but I've dropped the thing a dozen times and it's never shattered. My touch-sensitive part of the touch screen messed up and had to be replaced and it's starting to mess up again. Doesn't have your standard 3.5mm headphone jack."

I don't like PC Studio or any phone management software so far including Nokia's or Apple iTunes. PC Studio is not efficient or fast on an older XP computer that I use for my personal data server."

"Staying with my old 2009 Solstice because it is more functional and easy to use than the new Flight 2 that I tried. Love that on my Solstice the Widget slider can stay open, you can initiate Apps directly from the widget, the phone number doesnt get covered up by Contact List suggestion, the phone speaker and mute buttons do not get covered by the display advising about incalling feature button, I can access my email without a problem, etc. Love my 2009 Solstice and hate the Flight 2."

"I've had this phone close to two years now and it's still working beautifully. It has a few quirks here and there but for the most part I would recommend this phone to anyone! In fact, last night the screen went out for a little bit. All I did was give it a few taps and it's good to go again! Any phone that I have had before has broken or screen has shot within 6 months. Thank you Samsung, for such a wonderful phone!"

"Really good phone ive had for a couple years and not had a problem with it.
it is defenitly not a phone for features because all the features you have to pay for and its not good for business either. this phone is probably the best non-smartphone out there.
the problems i seem to have with it are low speaker volume and its more difficult to text than most other phones out there. the phone doesnt take a regular headphone so you have to go and buy an attachement so you can actually use a regular headphone and that attachement breaks easily
other than that its a great phone and its very durable, like extremely durable i drop it alot and one time even walked into a pool with it in my pocket and it still works fine
i reccomend this phine"

"I love this phone. It's one of the better ones I've ever had. It's very easy to use, and the touch screen is fun. It's very customizable, which is nice. I can save sounds and pictures that people send me easily, and I can set those sounds and pictures as my ring/text tones and backgrounds. I've had this phone for a year and a half now and it has never slowed down or acted weird, even though I've probably dropped it hundreds of times. However, I wish it had a physical keyboard...but that's only because my thumbs are on the fat side. The lock button is in a great place, and I appreciate that I don't have to hold it down to unlock the phone. The battery life is awesome, and it's never decreased throughout my ownership of the phone. I can go two or three days without charging it, and I am definitely a frequent texter. I don't use the internet or apps so I don't have anything to say about those, but I really cannot find a real flaw in this phone. I highly recommend it for someone that wants a nice, good phone, but doesn't want to pay the data it requires to get a smartphone. This phone rules."

"Loved my Solstice I so much that when my contract was up I went and got the Solstice II without even shopping around. I absolutely couldn't even use the Solstice II. Every time my face touched the screen it started dialing or going on speaker phone so either my callers or I couldn't carry on a conversation. I had to take the phone back. Because I no longer "own" a Solstice II I cannot rate it so I have to do it here. I also did not like the fact they put so many mandatory junk widgets on the phone it made it hard to get to the ones I actually used."

"I bought this phone in mid-april of this year and I'm very disappointed! First ,this is the second phone,but it has the same problems as the first! Drops calls/txts,shuts off on it's own, battery goes down in less than 3 hrs after a full charge!I have spoken to AT&T and they are useless!I have a lot of other samsung products,(TV,computer monitors) and they're great! This phone is the worst,and if I ever have an emergency(travel a lot) I know it will fail!I have 2 yrs on my contract and I am stuck with a phone that fails more than it works! Not a happy camper!"

"actually bought this phone 2nd hand from a local cell store (not a regular cell store/company). it wasn't even re-furbished; checked & marked "ok"). some of the calendar events still in the phone were dated 3/2010. I TOTALLY LOVE THIS PHONE & wished I had gotten it sooner or brand new! The battery life is excellent & the virtual keyboard didn't take long at all to get used to (even though I was hesitant at first). Would love to get the solstice II to see how it stands up but I really don't need to replace this one & don't want to :)"

"When i first got this phone i really liked it because i never had a touchscreen before... but as the days went by and i see how things are getting bigger and better i don't feel the same way... you can't really do much with it, when i talk on the phone i go from a full battery to about two bars left (same thing when i send pictures), the screen freezes, no video share, and all the other cool stuff... it's a great phone if you want something standard but if you want cool apps and stuff like me then this is not the phone to have... can anybody say upgrade??"

"This phone has been a headache since the day I bought it. If I weren't stuck in a 2-year contract with AT&T I would throw this phone out in an instant. The keyboard is completely unreliable. I have recalibrated it half a dozen times, but it simply will not record the correct letters and often will not record to any amount of touch, from the lightest to the heaviest. Complete junk. Do not buy this phone!"

"It's a very nice phone coming right out of the box. Very nice screen and pretty accuret touchsceen. Speakers on it are Outstanding, keybored on it is very easy to use even if you perfer T9 or qwerty. Overall Wonderful phone. There are a few things I do find odd though. To try and change some of your personal settings, you have to go through out the phone to change the things you wish. An other neg, about the phone is that if you dont have a data plan you cant use a lot of their "Extras" but me only having standered plan plus texting the phone is still a wonderful buy.The Camera could use a small update, but the edit system on the camera is fun and pretty outstanding for a cell phone. It has a Fast responce time on the phone so not much lag which I love."

"I really wish AT & T would allow for a more comprehensive upgrade with Apps or a more sophistcated operating system, however I feel that this phone does work well for a few things. The touchscreen is much better for typing than the Impression and for not having to upgrade to a smartphone you are getting quite the bang for your buck!"

"This product does everything my husband's iPhone does, everything my parents' Blackberry does, and is easier to use, battery lasts longer, and costs less. The only thing I wish was that there were more accessories available for my Solstice - things like cases and protective covers. This is my second Samsung, and I will be getting Samsung phones from now on, simply because they are effective, stylish, and affordable. Also, Samsung's service is exceptional. The times I have had questions, or needed help, the agents were right there, and even checked back with me to make sure things were going well. Keep up the great work, Samsung!"

"I just got this phone, but my dad already had it and I'm amazed. I absolutely LOVE the handwriting feature, and i think i will use that more than landscape. The screen is responsive, and i think Samsung did a good job. I would definately reccomend this phone. I have been waiting a week for my mom to get me this phone, and i almost died of anxiety. This is my favorite of 3 phones, and definately my dream phone. I also am a huge Sims fan, so having the sims 3 already downloaded was a huge perk for me. There are also other good games, but i deleted a few to save memory space. The 2 Mega-Pixel camera is good if you are in a bright room, and works amazing outside, but no flash. It also takes video and allows you to send video messages. The lock feature is useful if you butt-dial alot, and I like the screensavers, although you cannot change them. The features are nice, but they do take up alot of space. That doesn't bug me though. Overall a great but for the price;2 THUMBS WAY UP.(: <3"

"This phone was relatively inexpensive, and does not lack any features. I would recommend this phone to anyone! I have dropped it maybe 5 times and its help up well! not a single scratch, even though i keep it in a case. The touch screen is really responsive, and even though while texting the keys are small they are almost never incorrect when i click something. Thanks Samsung for another (yes my third) phone!"

"About two years ago, a phone that I had just gotten and had for two weeks was stolen. It was a touchscreen phone too. But when I got this Samsung Solstice back in February, I was so happy. It performed so much better than the phone that was stolen. I've been very pleased with it ever since I got it. I really do recommend it."

"When I got the Solstice I was pretty happy with the touch screen interface and it has overall served me very well for what I use it for. However the call volume leaves a little to be desired. I often drive a truck for the company I work for and didn't realize until then how quiet the speaker really is on this thing. No matter what settings I tried to adjust on this phone I just couldn't get it loud enough to hear when I'm driving. The touch sceen is great for quickly navigating the TouchWiz interface. Texting is pretty good overall but I'd love to see the Swype feature used on the higher end phones. Super easy to pocket and a great no-fuss phone with lots of neat features. The battery life is phenominal! I can go for two or three days of normal use without having to recharge. Overall, a really good phone."

"Overall I like the phone, it's small and fits comfortably in my pocket, the screen is large and the images are easy to see. Phone quality is good, but ATT 3g reception is iffy at best in my area. The menus are intuitive and it takes very little time to learn how to use. I don't use the online feature.
But, it does have its cons. The virtual keyboard is very tempermental . . . I spend as much time correcting typos as anything else, occasionally I can press a key and a completely different charactor will appear on the screen, other times the screen will freeze momentarily, still other times I will try to hit the backspace key and hit the OK key instead . . . if I hit it twice the message will send before I'm done. Lately, the software seems to be acting up. For no apparent reason the phone will switch from ring to viberate. If I turn an alarm off the settings will be completely different the next time I turn it on."

"Just purchased this phone about 24 hours ago BUT my oldest daughter has had hes for year now. It has held up well for her. I like the size , its easy to use. screen is very easy to use touch response is very good. I was dissapointed that some of the little things I like to personlize are not able to be changed and a high rez. camera would , for me ,make this a perfect phone. but over all a good value for the purchase price."

"It was easy to use the day I purchased it. I love the back of it because it doesn't slip out of your hand like other cell phones. It has a bit of a grip which is nice. Having a bit of trouble changing sounds but that is me not the phone. Picture quality is wonderful sound quality is good. Swapping phone calls is great too. Having trouble getting the battery out. Just haven't learned the trick yet. Over all a wonderful phone. I am 64 and have has several phones. This is by far the BEST."
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy to use
Cons: hard to get battery out

"I have some difficulty getting the screen to respond to my touch but all in all it's a fun device. I believe the problem I am having is caused by the plastic cover I purchased at the AT&T store where I bought the phone. The sales rep. told me the plastic would soften in time so I'll hold my frustration until then. I really like the larger screen, much easier to handle; and the sound is wonderful...other devices I have had weren't loud enough. This one is great!"

"I was looking at buying the Samsung Mythis but i couldnt afford it, now i have the samsung solstice and it works very well and i cant get rid of it for another phone do to its durability.It holds its own value like no tommarrow! It works and functions like mew, some scratches but never habe a problem. I regret gettiing the worrenty, i have no need for it its that swell!!"

"I like the large screen on this phone and the widgets are helpful. I have only one problem, and that is when I go to pick up the phone at times, I end up ending the call instead of answering it. Not sure yet why this happens even with the lock on. Other than that it functions nicely as a phone and the other functions are fine. I do not use the internet over the phone so I cannot comment on these features."

"Many features, each with extremely limited functionality and no integration. Calendar displays daily appointments in order they were entered; not in order they will occur. TASKS have no calendar for scheduling, so you have to know the actual date you want to schedule the task. No copy/paste functionality and no integration between features, so you have to find info (i.e., email address) in one application, remember it, navigate to another feature, and type it in (i.e., to send an email). No snooze option on Calendar or Task reminders. Will not synch up to Outlook Calendar. Slow response on touch screen. A huge step backwards in development."
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no copy/paste, no "snooze" feature on tasks/calendar, no integration between apps, limited functionality

"This is my fifth phone, and then first one I ever had used to be my favorite bc the LG I had b4 was like really really boring it only had camera and you couldn't c the vids you recorded no games or anything and then I got this phone and I was so happy. I saw other reveiws of this phone nd I was a bit scared, but now I know I shouldn't have been. All you people who say this phone sux, no offense or nething, but I do not get that! I've had 2 Samsungs, and out of my five fones those 2 were the best. When I upgrade in a couple of years, I want the most updated version on the Solstice! Thank you Samsung! =) =D"
