"I love my moment! It does everything a smart phone should do! I just dont think it can hold enough apps, or maybe the apps I download are too big....therefore I couldnt use it for my MP3 player. BUT i love that i can use youtube facebook, WWonline, and my multiple mobile banking sites, bluetooth works great! I am super happy with it, I just need to keep my ipod for my music, except for when I use pandora on my Samsung Moment! LOL"

"Overall a great device, I had mine for almost two years and only had a few issues (user error NOT Samsung) but these were resolved and I am happy. I wish it would have been upgradeable to 2.2 to move the applications to the SD card but I can understand that this is an older device. I am a Samsung customer for life and I am even happier with my Epic 4G! Sprint + Samsung together make the ultimate cell phone! I can't say enough about either company!"

"Everything you could want in a smartphone and more. It has all the features that any other smart phone whether it be apple or htc, but is more user friendly and i enjot the slide out keyboard, it gives you multiple options of how you want to use the phone. It only has 3 pages for apps, but it has a storage of downloaded apps that even a child could use. I would buy this any day Over an IPHONE or and HTC EVO. The only option i would like to have is a forward facing camera, which the Epic has, and Samsung is # 1 in electronics right now so how can you go wrong."

"No complaints. I have used this phone for about a year with no problems. It is my business phone. I bought and loaded "Documents to Go" just after I bought the phone. Using this application, I edit word files and keep a record of my expenses in an Excel spreadsheet when I travel. The phone connectivity is good and voice quality is reasonable. One addition would make the phone more useful. I use the GPS capability of the phone to travel to plants in rural locations where cell service is limited. The Sprint navigation program requires a constant connection to provide map data to the phone. It would be better to put the map data on the SD in the phone to fix this problem. The map data could be updated periodically using the wi-fi capabilities of the phone."

"I have had many cell phones since they have come out and they always amaze me. I have progressed along with the technology pretty good but would not consider myself a whiz. This particular model has all that I wanted and then some. It is a little large but the screen is great for those who like to take pictures of the grandkids or the scenery. "II had never had an android phone and when the Evo 4G was advertised I decided I would buy one. I did and 3 days later I returned it. The salesperson suggested I look at the Moment. I decided to try it and am I glad he did!. I was overwhelmed by the Evo, yet the moment is awesome. I feel like I have learned the android system pretty well already and am "getting out of my comfort zone." The phone is fun, very responsive, and user friendly. Price was right and I have received compliments on the look and style of the phone. Look at this phone before looking at complcated phones from other companies!!"

"I had to practice on my phone a couple days , but since then it"s been a joy. I have had NO problems that I have read in the reviews.It does what it"s suppose to do ,when YOU tell it! I have tried the HTC Mogul,then the Touch Pro,the Palm Pre, the Palm 755 and the Blackberry Tour and I do have to say that this phone is far and away superior! Its built rugged and has a great feel in your hand. I use my on screen keyboard with my big fingers with NO problem! It has a clear sound when I am on the phone and my bluetooth works flawlessly. Just wish it came with a car charger in the box! Thanks Samsung for a great phone!"

"I have always had a samsung but switched to a Motorola a year ago. The Motorola gave me problems from the get go and got worse from there. The second one(after 11 months) had the same problems plus more. The guy that sold me the phone told me he was sorry that he sold it to me. NEVER AGAIN!!! I have always had awesome performance with Samsung phones and this one is no exception. The Moment is the best phone I have had so far. It works almost flawlessy(minor glitches, mostly due to user error), has good weight, the screen is the best so far, clarity of the calls is awesome, texting, app functions, downloads, the whole bit. I will NOT switch to another phone company unless it has to be. SAMSUNG is the way to go for now and the future."

"I love my Moment. This phone does so much I am lost without it. If I am not near my computer I can check all my email accounts, my facebook, my space, internet explorer. I can also multi-task with this phone. I don't have to end my conversation to check a text or facebook message, play a game, use the calculator. And if your address is stored in my phone I can just click on it and sprint navigator will tell me how to get there. I'm loving my Moment. I just wish Samsung had included and extra battery and battery charger like it did with my previous phone the "Instinct", that would have made it perfect. I got spoiled by that."

"First smart phone I've ever had and I love it. Still learning but it's great. The guy a sprint downloaded task manager to close apps when I'm not using them to save my battery. Have not had a problem with my battery at all. Love the keyboard so if I don't want to use the touch screen I don't have to. Love Sprint's customer service as well and there help. It also does not feel like your holding a piece of plastic has little weight to it but I like that some phones feel like your holding a plastic toy but not this one!!

"Loads of functionality. Does everything but make toast. A few learning curve issues like when I'm talking on the phone my face keeps touching the screen and invoking other functions. Maybe I need a thinner face. Gotta work that out.

Main issue is when I put on vibrate, cannot receive notifications because there is no option for vibrate on the notifications menu. Boo. Still searching for a solution.

So far, I love Android.

Meanwhile, I'm largely enjoying Samsung Moment."

"I've had this phone for almost a month now and I'm satisfied with it. I'm pretty hard to satisfy when it comes to cell phones, but I've been pleased thus far. I had a couple of problems @ the beginning w/ the android market not being able to access it, but the problem was resolved quickly. The battery life could be a lot better, but overall I love it!!!"

"Here are the problems I have been experiencing:
-Lag when texting
-Proximity Sensor issues
-Screen remains black when receiving a call
-Lag in changing to and from landscape
**When fully charged, phone will randomly power-off and will not power-up. I have to remove the battery, wait a minute or two, replace battery, and then connect the charger. Afterwards, the Samsung logo will pop-up.

"Switched to this phone a few weeks ago and have found that it is a feature rich tool for productivity. The Moment gives me the ability to communicate with anyone necessary via a host of different methods. The availability of so many apps just adds to the usefulness by allowing me to add features that increase my productivity and also gives me the tools to enhance the Android experience. As this operating system evolves, I believe that it will become the standard by which all others are judged. As for the Samsung phone itself, the ergonomics and ease of use are pretty much spot on. "I was planing on upgrading my phone and had no clue which phone would be best to do so. I looked at a few different phones; design, layout, customization, etc., but wasn't completely satisfied. A representative suggested the Samsung Moment. As soon as I saw it I feel in love with the overall design of the phone, and thought it was totally awesome that it also had a slide out keyboard! So I purchased it. I am now playing around with my new phone getting to know its functions and I'm having a blast."

"this phone is awesome! it has all the functionality of any other phone with options to spare! the touch screen is super responsive the call sound is wonderful and for those that are having issues with power in a day... change some settings and its fine... i can go thru the day with 200 texts 1 hr of talk and still not go past half the battery... but the web does drain pretty quick** with that said... when 2.0 comes out it will be even better with that! all in all i have no complaints. if you root it then you get even more battery saving options!!"

"Not a fan of cell phones really, never have been, The Moment is a bit different though. The battery is about a 3/5 and for some reason the main menu doesn't reorient itself automatically (even with the option selected) unless the keyboard is out. The Android store is fantastic as well and I can't wait for 2.0 to come out, hopefully with multi-touch support. No real qualms though, I just wish I could get a straight answer on the size of Micro SD card this phone can handle. I see 16GB in places and 32GB others..."

"The Samsung Moment is by far one of the best phones I have ever owned. I love the fact that I can type via touch screen or for the long messages I can open up the keyboard. It has a great screen and really responsive.
With this phone I can surf the internet, find any restaurant via GPS and read my corporate email. Oh and if there is a Football Game on I can watch that to.
With the new Android OS the sky is really the limit. Overall, I am really happy with the quality of the Samsung Moment Phone Its a sturdy mini computer in your Pocket. If Samsung continues to produce phones like this one. I'll be a loyal customer for a very long time."

"The Samsung Moment is a great device. I was one of the first people I knew in the early 2000's to have a 'smart' phone in the Palm OS devices. Although the Palm phones were innovative for their time, they are no longer a front runner in the smart phone business.

The moment is easy to use, is packed with features, and is reasonably priced. Additionally, it is compatible with my wireless provided (Sprint).

The only issue I have with the phone is that sometimes the applications, and screen changes are a tad groggy. My girlfriend, who has Verizon, has recently purchased the Motorola Droid and I feel that the 2.0 version of the Android software is MUCH quicker."

"I was the 1st customer in line at my Sprint store the day this phone came out. I have lost sleep because I wasn't able to put it down when I first bought it! Lol It has been an awesome phone. Being new to Android I can say that this phone has made it easy for me to both learn the phone and the OS. I love everything about it except a somewhat disappointing battery charge life. I have overcome this by purchasing both an extra battery which I keep charged and with me, and also purchasing a charger for the car. I'm holding my breath and hoping that Samsung steps up and gives us an upgrade to Android 2.0! So, I would highly recommend the Moment to anyone looking for a new, hi-tech, and great phone!"

"I purchased this phone about a month ago. I got in instead of the HTC Pro 2. I love that it syncs with google, and my aol. This is awesome. I use this phone far more than I've used any other phone, and it's even got my "weather" feature that I just had to have.

I have some minor issues with the touch screen.. I'm still working out precisely "where" to touch in order to get it right. I'm not used to touch technology. It's probably user error.

Love the slide out QWERTY. (note, I use this instead of the touch screen, whenever possible).

Love the display. It's like watching a miniature version of my HDtv.

The only cons I've found with it thus far: Mute button on the touch screen while making a phone call will activate when you put your phone to your face. I see no way to disable this, but I'm still learning the phone.

Another con, but with a pro.. Battery wears out fairly quickly, but that has not yet been an issue, because I purchased a car charger with the phone, and I simply grab my USB charger and take it with me to work. It does come with a wall charger. This is still in the plastic, since it's so easy to to plug in the USB. So, fast use of battery life, but exceptionally easy to charge.

In any case, I've been pretty happy with this phone overall. I could see a few improvements. But, I'd definitely buy it again. It's great. Love Samsung!!!"

"I just switched to Sprint after searching for a carrier that would allow me to make full use of a phone without nickle and dime-ing me to death with hidden charges or extra fee's to unlock features. I picked up 3 of these phones and a Rant for my youngest.

The Moment takes about 45 minutes to learn. It's running Android 1.5 "Cupcake" and is fairly sparse with its applications. The calculator is very simple, no tips or conversions, the camera doesn't offer any controls beyond turning the flash on or off (no panorama or photo touch-up gizmo's, photo's are taken in 2048x1536 JPEG.) The Camcorder is just as void of features. It has Sprint TV features, some Google apps (Talk, Contacts, Email). And a game demo of Bejewled. So, 3 star for features - there's lots of room to improve the apps. I'm hopeful that the Android Market place can shine through and add the bells and whistles.

Like many phones the speaker is on the back of the phone so listening to music is improved by tuning the device up-side-down. The front of the phone does have a speaker for normal phone conversation, but it's not as loud as the rear speaker. The side volume controls are easy to find and work as expected.

The display is gorgeous and large. And the processor is fast. Surfing the Internet is fun and draws a similar picture to my desktop. My impression is that the browser experience isn't as good as the one on an iPhone or iTouch, lacking is gestures to zoom-in or out or copy and paste. But the zoom is compensated by a virtual key for magnification, and copy and paste is hiding under the menu button.

The battery life could always be better, but I'm never far from a USB port or AC outlet, so I can easily extend the life. Many battery companies offer a portable battery charger, such as the Energi To Go, that will extend the life with several extra hours of use.

Included in the package was the phone, an instruction manual, getting started guide, features guide, registration card, the required legal documentation, mini-USB wall charger, ear-bud headset with mic, and a 2 GB Micro SD RAM card with adapter, and a USB to Micro PC cable adapter.

Overall Samsung is responsible for creating this piece of fantastic hardware and offering a solid package. Google needs to step-up their offerings of features. Many of the lacking features can be added through applications downloaded in the future, so I'm going to go ahead and recommend this phone."

"I am/was a lifelong Palm user until I bought a Palm Pre. I took it back within days and told the clerk what I was looking for. He had just gotten in the Moment and I said "sold". I brought it home and at first wanted to throw it against the wall like with any new technical device I buy, but I persevered and I am glad I did. This phone is amazing! It is very user friendly after you get the hang of it (which luckily doesn't take long). My only issues are with the battery life (I need to figure out how to extend it) and with "Moxier Mail". This is the program that is supposed to allow me to have a work account on the phone but it doesn't allow me to enter my work email information. All my email goes into my Google account (from two different email accounts) and it sorts them by work/personal, etc. I can send from any account when I am on my pc, but not on my phone. I will figure it out but in the meantime it's quite frustrating. All in all, it's a wonderful phone. Buy it!"

"To clarify for anyone reading this I have owned an HTC-6700, Motorola Q, HTC TouchPro with several coworkers having the iPhone, Samsung Blackjack, PalmPre etc. We all use a smarphone of some type.

This phone is fantastic from a capabilities perspective.

KEYBOARD
I have large fingers so the keyboard slider is great. I really liked the look of the HTC Hero (aka Droid Eris) but had so many typing errors with the virtual keyboard. Side by side I had an average of 7 errors per sentence with the Hero compared to less than 1 per sentence with the Moment.

PROXIMITY SENSOR
There are other features like the proximity sensor that is often under looked but if you have every consistently hit the mute button with your face you know how frustrating not having one can be.

OPTICAL JOYSTICK
The Optical Joystick works so much better than I expected particularly for one handed operation. it can be a bit sensitive for very fine scrolling but with the touch screen being the primary way to do this it's not really an issue.

OPERATING SYSTEM & MARKETPLACE
This is the first phone I have owned with the Android OS (Moment comes with 1.5) and I will say it is fantastic for such an infant of an operating system. There are definitely some items that other os's have that will eventually roll out. There have been some hiccups with a few services not starting and getting locked up that have required a restart. However this happens all the time on Windows Mobile. Also if your not using Google's services you should be left wanting as they are such a large part of the features. They do have a service for tying directly into exchange however. The market place is a bit more of the shareware feel since it's open to any developer. With the Apple store there is a hefty license that has to be paid for so the majority of developers there are in it to make some coin and produce apps that are geared more the the enterprise and games market.

BATTERY LIFE
This definitely is a weakness and had hoped this would be better than the iPhone battery life. You can extend this by installing some widgets to help easily control the individual radios that are on at any given time (GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi & CDMA). To be fair that is a lot of radio signals so it's to be partially expected. I just want more though. Make these a bit thicker or taller or get nano sized particles in there. Something. Give me an aftermarket battery that is $75+ that has 2-3 times the life and I'll buy it.

Overall this is a fantastic phone that i would recommend to most people out there. With the 2.0 release of Android due out in Q1 2010 I'm sure there will be a host of upgrades and performance boosts."

"Great Phone. All the android programs work, more than I can say about the flawed HTC Hero that I took back. The calander works great with GMail.

The only issue Samsung need to fix is the poor battery life. It needs the battery charger and a spare battery, that the Instinct has "I purchased a spare battery, but a pain to charge having to use the phone." Come on Samsung, You can do it."

"This was one in a long line of smartphones I've had. I was happy with it for the first year, but the second year the phone was tired and worn out. On the outside. The performance was always good.

The slider became tired and slack after the first year and the internal connections (solder?) on the power/usb connector were loose and the phone could not always get a charge.

Did not last the two years I had anticipated, but the first year was great."

Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color

Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations

"This was a good phone. Heavy in weight. Was discontinued shortly after it was released which I found annoying. Software updates stopped shortly after that. Phone acted up after 1 1/2 years. I guess that was all it was ment to last."

"After using this product for about 18 months, it started losing performance. Just before reaching 24 months, it got so bad it would only boot up ocassionally and then was not really operational."

"It's an entry level Android phone but it does the job. I acquired this from a family member who happens to work in commercial steel. It sat in his pocket on construction sites and goodness knows what else for 18 months and is still in nearly new condition. Can't really complain about its durability!

Cons: Wish it had Android 2.2 or higher, and the battery life leads a lot to be desired (even with a brand new battery."

"Samsung Moment has proven itself, value, and works over couple years - as compared to the many cellphones I've owned over decades. It may not be the fanciest or trendiest phone (i.e. not an I-phone), but it's proven durable, cost/effective, survivor and it's outlasted some other phones owned by my co-workers, friends and family. Battery life seems shorter than I would have liked, but that may be a function of how much I use it since I got the phone and since became comfortable with it. Works as a phone (which is primary need). Works for taking decent pictures (if there's a problem, it's usually the operator not the phone at fault). Works to play my stored music files (over 29 complete albums!). Works well as e-reader too (as I am avid reader), and has eased me to accepting some e-books. Easily and conveniently fits on my dashboard for navigation view. I have had some problems getting it connected to my computer, but I believe that's to be expected some - because there's so many products and operating systems out there in the market. Overall I am pleased with my selection."

Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight, easy to use, realistic/ practical

Cons: connectivity to computer problems, battery life
