"I'm nicely surprised not as much as for its excellent quality image, which was something to be expected, due to Samsung's reputation, but for the vast improvement to the sound quality over previous TV sets I've owned.
The only thing would have make this set close to perfection would have been any kind of internet connectivity.
On the other hand I understand the price tag was more than reasonable.

"The TV performance is excellent. Each feature (ex: brightness, volume) has a wide range of adjustments and small enough increments to find the perfect settings.

The remote is very thoughtfully designed for a human to actually use it. The most frequently used functions (for most people) are located where fingers can land on the buttons without being double jointed or needing two hands.

I am really impressed with the ergonomic design of the TV."

"This is a perfect-sized TV. Our living room is 12' x 22' and
this TV is great - not too big, not too small. The picture quality is marvelous - so clear, so real. My husband remarks often, "look at that picture". There was an issue with the back light and it had to be adjusted down, so the brightness feature is a little less, but still great. The help desk at Samsung was very helpful, professional and friendly.

"Great value TV with excellent picture quality and enough easy to use and understand settings to get the most out of it.I gave all 5 stars but took one star from FEATURES, as for me, Id like to see ability to pass Dolby 5.1 content out the Digital Optical Out (TosLink) to external device (like a soundbar). All in all, I have been very happy with this TV."

Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Cons: only pcm out of toslink
