"I have had this washer for a few weeks now and love it! It is energy efficient and just plain smart! The loads take around an hour for a full load on regular and the aqua jet is a really neat feature, it gives the clothe an extra bang in the cycle, since it spins out the water and then the water comes back through the top and hits them again from the other side. The machine is very quiet and does not move. The display and controls are easy to use and understand and it holds so many clothe that I now only have to do one cycle a week (family of two). The clothe are nearly dry when they come out, and the machine is just easy to use. The dispenser trays are nice and are removable for cleaning, although whenever I look in them after a wash, there is no detergent in there, just some water, so as long as you do it right (add the right amount) it works perfectly and you should not have to clean it. I am very happy with this washer and plan to enjoy it for years to come. Also, I like the jingle at the end when the clothe are done, it is much better than the buzzer that some have and is loud enough to hear from the other room. It is a nice feature and adds a special touch the machine!"

"We have had great luck with all types of Samsung products to date. A friend of ours had the larger 4.7 top load model and recommended it, however the 4.5 fit our size and price point better. However, I was very concerned with not seeing very many reviews at any sites, and many that I found mentioned leaks. But we purchased anyway. So far so good after 6 washes or so. We have not tried the AquaJet setting yet, which may be a factor. Wanted to play it safe with the first washes since we had laundry to catch up on (old unit died in the middle of the first of several loads). We will try the AquaJet setting soon and hoping that is not a contributor to leaks. Overall this unit is excellent so far. Yes, takes getting used to how it works with limited water, but as you watch it through the cycle, it does ultimately get to everything in the tub."

Pros: plenty of features, extremely quiet, great design, efficient use of water

"Purchased this washer to replace an competitor front loader that was nothing but problems for 7 years. After using this washer for several weeks now, I can confidently say that we have not been this satisfied with a washer in decades! If you follow the manufacturer's recommendations, it works like a dream. Cloths are always clean and it runs with so little noise that you can't hear it in the room next door. We have a large family and wash for 8 people which means several loads a day. Before this washer arrived, there were always piles of laundry to do because the former washer just wasn't cutting it. Now that this washer is here, the piles are gone and doing the laundry is never been more fun!"

"The washer is attractive and makes pleasing tones when it is finished with cycles. It does well with synthetic clothing. However, with expensive shirts that I used to wash on the permanent press cycle, the dirty rings around the collar do not come clean. In talking with the customer service rep, she suggested that we try the heavy duty dirt cycle for these. I am concerned that cycle will ruin the permanent press quality of fine shirts."

"Key words here....leaks...repairs....headaches....do not buy this washing machine. Wish we had read the other reviews. Multiple repairs and will never buy another Samsung product for this and "repair process" reasons. 'How many Samsung products do you own?' one washing machine too many! Highly disatisfied on every count with this purchase."

"We were told Samsung was the terrific new washing machine company. We have had this machine 6 months, the service company has been out 4 times in the last two weeks. They now want to replace the 'drum'. So basically we own a refurbished washer...could have purchased a 'used' one out of the paper if that was what we wanted. I'm sure they will not publish this."

"After 3 1/2 months of use @ 1 to 2 loads per day, catastrophe strikes. The metal hose clamp that secures the drain pump to the drain hose @ the bottom of washer tub falls apart. Then the drain pump breaks away from its mounting bracket and the washer tub drains onto the floor inside my house. The store where I bought it said no problem, we will send our repairman out in about a week and he will order all necessary parts to make the repairs. After the parts arrive, the repairman will schedule a return trip. In about 2 1/2 weeks things should be back to normal, all covered by the warranty except the cost & inconvenience of at least 3 trips a week to the laundry mat, 10 miles away...no thanks..I ordered and will replace my own parts."

"I bought this washing machine because of the extra large capacity. Since I wash alot of bedding and thick towels in my home I thought this would be ideal. Boy was I wrong! I've had the machine for a year and a half and I think it's horrible. While it does a good job as far as being able to do lots of towels and bedding at the same time it does not get anything really clean. Watch it wash, everything just kind of moves around slowly with no agitation. Even the small loads I do for my clothing leaves stains. So after only a year and a half with this machine I need to just bite the bullet and the money I paid for it and buy something that actually cleans my clothes. I am amazed that anyone has had a good experience with this machine, it just does not clean your clothes!"

"Awful design! Reasons: cant change water temp once you start a wash. Have to POWER DOWN and START ALL OVER just because you may have chosen wrong temp. CANNOT select a load size! Wash a couple items on any cycle except Quick Wash and you are stuck with a 47 minute wash- and you cant shorten the time. NO WAY to select a warm or hot wash with a cold rinse!! You get one temp for the whole wash- and as stated YOU CANT CHANGE IT AFTER STARTING! This is a design disaster."

"bought w/ matching dryer. dryer was great. however, washer leaked 75% of the time, and it leaked 100% of time with AquaJet feature. every. single. load. leaked. replaced washer twice in 3 weeks. same results. returned the pair & got something else that works great. DON'T BUY THIS ONE...PURE LEMON."
