"I purchased this Chromebook back in November. After using it for only a short period of time, I ditched my Netbook, laptop, and tablet. It boots fast and runs just as fast. The battery life is excellent - I take it to work and don't bother bringing the charger. It gets more than the advertised 6hrs (unless I am watching video). I don't think you can get a better computer for the price."

"I bought the Chromebook for my wife about a week ago. She was 'afraid' of using my laptop for fear of breaking it or loosing my data. When she saw this in a TV ad she immediately wanted one.
She did not know anything about computers before this. But she loves this one. Very at ease with it. She is getting along with this just great. Easy for her to use.
I have been testing it and using everything I can and can't find anything wrong with it. I love it better than my Laptop."

"I have only had this for 4 days, but so far I love it! I was looking for something to replace a Netbook and this is it!
I wanted something light weight and slim design. Couldn't ask for more with the Chromebook. After seeing Ipads, this product is lighter, despite having a larger screen, and you have a full keyboard! Win Win!

As a Chrome user to start, this product just makes everything all that much easier. My phone, my laptop, desktop are all exactly the same. All my information is at my fingertips right out of the box! No set up. No installing software. Everything is just there and ready to use!

Chromebook starts immediately upon opening the cover. Battery life is amazing. Once it is fully charged, after using it for over 2 hours, my battery life was still over 85% despite it not being plugged in. Awesome!

Screen is very easy to look at. I had read that some folks were having trouble with the viewing angle. I use this on my lap, and have moved it around and no matter where it is (on my lap) I have had no trouble at all with viewing. If it is not plugged in, the screen does become a bit dimmer..just an FYI, however, I didn't find it bothersome.

The keyboard is easier to use than my laptop or netbook. It is much like a desktop keyboard. (I do need to learn some of the shortcuts, like caps lock as there is no capslock key.)

I have always had a problem using trackpads. I tried using a wireless mouse with it just to see how it worked., and it was a bit sluggish. However, I really am not having any issues with the trackpad. It is very large, so it is easy to use.

The number and selection of apps are great, and they are all free!!!!

Were I pressed to find an issue with this? It would be that I'd rather see the AC input on the side, rather than the back of the unit so that it wasn't 'in the way'. But since the battery lasts so long, you don't need it to be plugged in that often!

For the money, it is amazing. I plan on selling both my laptop and netbook. I really cannot say enough good things about the Chromebook. Excellent product!"

"Being a frequent SAMSUNG user and having all of the google apps on my android devices made the decision to buy this an easy one. The computer looks very small on display but once you sit down with it you can seamlessly adapt to its extremely well laid out keyboard and large responsive track pad. My only wish is that it had a caps lock button as it has been replaced with a instant search button. Also I would advise anyone who purchases it to be sure you have a "cloud ready" printer. The OS seems to have a long list of problems with old fashioned printers."

"I just recently got this computer and by my expectations, it is great. I have had such horrible luck with computers in the past, I didn't know what to think. I had to look everywhere for one and you just about couldn't find them in any store. They could just be ordered online, so I thought "Great, here I go again. Ordering something that will become completely useless.", I then got the computer in the mail. It is hands down, one beast of a machine. It powers through everything it is told to do. The apps that you can get for it are something else. I never thought a computer could be this quick. Normally when researching something I look it up off of my smartphone but now, I find myself reaching more and more for the chromebook. It is lightning quick, takes 3 seconds for mine to power on. Sure I have hit a few speed bumps. like Adobe Flash Player not working but I quickly fixed that one. The other thing is not being able to use Netflix off of this awesome device. That is the only thing that I see wrong with the computer and when that gets fixed, this will be by far the best computer I have ever owned. Sure all the reviews that are on the internet say that the chromebook will be a great secondary computer, I think it is so much more than that and if get one you will see how right they went with this product! The main reason why I got it was because I needed a computer, not a "secondary device" as people call it, like it's a luxury. I needed something quick and I needed something fast so I decided the chromebook was the way to go. I have read so many bad reviews about the Samsung chromebook and I have came to the conclusion that they have either gotten a bad lemon out of the batch or they just didn't know what they were getting themselves into, I think that chromebook is great. In my opinion, if you are thinking about buying one. Just go out and get it. You really won't go wrong and your wallet will thank you!"

"My girlfriend bought this computer for school. It amazes me that Google and Samsung would spend millions on making and selling a product and not making extra parts for replacements. There is no way to acquire a charger for this computer if damaged. you have to send the whole computer back just for a charger. they did not make the chrome book compatible with any other charger they make. if i would have none that i wouldn't have recommended. And for that i give it one star."

"If you are coming from any OS other than Chrome, there is a big difference. Most obvious is that you can't install software like you can on a PC or Mac, but the advantages are huge. The computer powers up in about 10 seconds, the keyboard is really easy to type on even with large hands, the battery life is astounding, and the HDMI port is a great bonus. Also, the hard drive space, while not large, is not a problem. Everything is backed up to a 100GB online cloud drive so you will never run out of space and if you happen to run out, you can just pick up an external hard drive. The computer also comes with an anti-virus that Google pre-installed and it isn't a trial, it is a full anti-virus. All in all, the benefits that come with the computer are too many to list and greatly outweigh the cons."

"The Chromebook is fast and light. Open the lid, and it begins starting up. Within 10-20 seconds, you are at the log on screen. You log on with your Gmail account and connect to a wifi internet signal (there is no ethernet port on this model). The Chromebook automatically updates your computer to the newest version of the Chrome operating system, so you do not have to worry about buying and upgrading every few years like you might with Windows et al. Also, you are protected by Google's virus protection, which is also updated, so you do not have to buy your own.

You are now ready to roll. Surf the internet using Google Chrome, check your Gmail or YouTube accounts, and launch other Google applications right from the bottom of your screen. There is no other pre-loaded software (nor is there a CD disc drive to add some on this model). There are two USB ports, one HDMI port and one SD port (for camera memory cards).

This is not a laptop designed to replace your computer with word processing, presentation and other software. But if you are comfortable using Google Drive (formerly Docs), then you do not need the newest version of Microsoft Office. There is an option, which I have not tried yet, to connect your Chromebook remotely to another computer's desktop and allow you to work on that computer while using the Chromebook. If this works the way I think it does, I would not need anything but my Chromebook with me, and my other computer(s) plugged in and connected to the internet somewhere in the world.

This is a great, cheap computer to get on and off the internet, which I think most people use their computers for these days. I am not sure how big the hard drive is, but most stuff will be stored in the cloud, anyway. It has very few applications to bog it down, so it runs fast. The USB drives are handy for connecting external devices, if you want/need them. The battery lasts a good long time. To shut it down, just hold the power button for four seconds.

I have only encountered two problems so far: 1. I work on a college campus, and their internet protocols are wacky. I could not figure out how to connect to the internet, and had to take it to the IT department. They were stymied a short while, as they had not had exposure to the Chromebook yet. Once they figured it out, though, I have not had a problem since (the IT people also commented that they were impressed with the device). 2. There is a bug affecting many Chromebooks that if you shut the lid without powering down, or if you let it go into sleep mode, it will not come back on without you having to "hard reset" the Chromebook (hold the power button ten seconds). The designers are working on a fix, and once found, it will be automatically installed to all affected Chromebooks.

I like my Chromebook, and look forward to many years of using it. I am still using my old laptop for word processing right now, but if the remote desktop works, I will exclusively use the Chromebook."

"If you are looking for a laptop for a high school or college student, there is no better bang for your buck than the Samsung Chrome book. I was looking for something that was lightweight, had decent battery life, and could perform basic tasks such as web surfing and word processing; this thing fits the bill perfectly. It is important to know that most of the applications for this product are currently web based only (more will be available offline as time goes on) and internet access is needed for them to work; this was no issue for me because i am a college student and i have a constant WiFi connection around campus. I was amazed at how simple this device was to set up and use. The Chrome OS is extremely simple; if a person has never owned or operated a computer in their life, they will still have no problem operating a chrome book. For the small size, this device has a great keyboard that is very comfortable. The mouse pad is a bit different than usual, but an instructional video explains everything upon booting up for the first time. I have so far not had any major issues with this device, but there is one thing that i found a bit odd. All of the ports on my chrome book feel a bit tight. I had a bit of difficulty putting in a flash drive the first few times and i broke a pair of headphones off in the chrome book because it pulled the pin of the headphones off when i tried to unplug my headphones. I don't know if the headphones were just cheaply made and worn out from use or if my chrome book is just defective somehow but i am very delicate with my electronics and this has never happened to me before. Even though my chrome book ate my headphones, I would still seriously recommend this device for students; it fast, lightweight, and could perform all of the tasks needed to succeed in school. This would again also be a great first computer for someone because it is so simple and easy to use. I hope this review helps convince people to give chrome books a chance, I'm glad i did."

"We bought this product for our 11 year old daughter. We are completely disappointed so far with it. The mouse continually locks up and she has difficulty loading her favorite websites and watching YouTube. If we don't get resolution soon it will go back to the store for another brand. We went with Samsung because we have been impressed with the 2 Galaxy Tabs and S3s that we own, so we stuck with the brand, bad idea I guess."

"I was very surprised by how well the Chromebook ran applications and sped through webpages. This was my first experience with a Chromebook device and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The boot time is incredible, and the mouse pad is very responsive. The way the Chromebook is designed with the hunch at the back can make it a little awkward to put in my bag sometimes, but besides that I am very happy with this device, the hdmi works flawlessly, and I have had not connectivity problems with Wifi.

"I am a beginner when it comes to android technology. I do not own a smartphone and this is my first laptop. I have found it very easy to navigate and it has many great tutorials to help with learning about the product. I have also had to use customer service a few times and they were very helpful. I love the sound and picture quality on the Chromebook. The only thing I have encountered a problem with is uploading my pictures from my camera SD card; I was able to do it on my PC though and was able to transfer the pics then onto my laptop."

"Technological advances accelerated in a multitude of venues in 2012, including hybrids of netbooks and cloud computing. The Samsung Chromebook retails at an affordable amount, and provides multiple opportunities for users to become more acquainted with cloud computing.

I needed to choose between a tablet and the Chromebook. I went with the Chromebook because it gives me access to documents, music, movies, and more. I can watch online classes, and type papers/notes at the same time. The keyboard is laid out well, and I appreciate the visual cheatsheet of shortcuts one can access. i don't like the noise from the trackpad clicks; it becomes annoying after awhile. However, this can be worked around with a usb wireless keyboard and mouse combo.

The Chromebook comes equipped with three ports: HDMI, USB 2.0 & 3.0. It also has a SD card slot. It boots up quickly, and is easy enough to navigate. Those unfamliar with Google Chrome may need some additional time to learn how to navigate; however, it will not take very long.

Audio is a bit muffled as the speakers are on the bottom -- not exactly well thought out in my opinion. I would have preferred the speakers on the keyboard side. However, there is a headphone jack so external speakers can be plugged in as well.

The only drawback some may find is that one cannot download software and things of that sort like one does on a laptop and desktop computers. A user can use the Chromebook offline, including write emails and use Google Docs. Once a user finds wi-fi again everything will sync up. If one does not have reliable access to wi-fi for long periods of time, one may become frustrated.

Overall, I would recommend this product."

"Does require internet connectivity for full functionality but once connected it blazes through your web browsing experience. The 8 second boot time is legit. The speakers are not the greatest, but this is corrected through use of good headphones. You can enter developer mode and learn to operate/build programs on linux. Overall, I have been pleased with my ChromeBook, its a really cool product with tons of possiblities"

"I fell in love with the device as soon as I got it. I always wanted an instant on device. I tried several builds of Linux, Splashtop etc. But this is amazing as its supported by Google. Being a fan of Google products, its cool product to have. I have now completely kept my 6 pound laptop at office and I just carry this around. "This is really a great device. It is so light, gets you connected, and has a keyboard that fits your hands. It also has offline capabilities for email and google docs and other items so you are not stuck if there no wifi around. Meanwhile, most 4G smartphones are now able to be their own hotspot, so you can use that in a pinch.

It is so light it can go anywhere, but just don't drop it. Mine fell from a chair to a carpeted floor (not very far) and cracked the screen."

"I already have a nice Samsung tablet,now I have a great little laptop. Samsung got it right with this Chrome OS device. It's fast ,slim and does most of what I need to do on the web.The USB 3.0 and a HDMI ports are a nice touch.I also have a Chromebox so now I'm taking my Chrome and Samsung on the road with a very nice keyboard.LOVE IT LOVE IT!"

"We bought the chrome in the UK , because it is not (yet) available in the rest of Europe. Everyone who sees this says, "I want one", When does this wonderful laptop becomes available in Europe !! We want to use this within big enterprizes /government.

We also want to use it in our own private cloud (besides the google cloud) , so load it with ubuntu 12.04 on ARM ourselves. The only thing lacking is an ARM supported smartcard reader for strong authentication ."

"I preordered the new Samsung Chromebook and it was delivered 2 days before leaving on a 7 day trip. I downloaded an ebook and read offline on the planes and throughout trip. I got free Wi-Fi connections at both airports. The 11.6" Chromebook fits on the aircraft tray table perfectly. I love the very fast start/resume/shut down. Free Wi-Fi at the resort kept me in close contact with email and wesites for election news. We watched Boardwalk Empire on HBOGO at the resort. Even though their Wi-Fi signal was weak, with limited bandwidth, the video played smoothly with only a few buffering pauses. I am looking forward to Netflix support for the ARM processor. I've been using cloud services for years and so far the new Samsung Chromebook has done everything I need or want it to. It's replacing a (relatively) heavy 15" notebook around the house and is much more convenient and comfortable on my lap. The keyboard and trackpad are the best I've ever used. So far I haven't found the need to fire up a notebook or use my home office desktop for anything. Since I have multiple Windows PCs available at home and always have a smartphone on travel, the Wi-Fi only aspect of the new Chromebook will not be an issue for me."

"I've had my chromebook for about 3 weeks and love it. I've been using it at night around the house as a 2nd computer (4 kids makes time on the home computer a little tight) and it is perfect for this use. I've also used it around my office in meetings to take notes instead of in a notebook. Offline google docs works great for this. Only 4 stars on the "features" because you're really limited if offline... But this is rather infrequent so its not a big deal for me. Definitely worth a try!"

"I wanted a livingroom web browser, my old windows laptop is dying. The chromebook is much better, lighter, longer battery life. My only complaint so far is the touchpad doesn't do right-click very easily. I wish it had two buttons (left and right) like most pads."

"Well, this product seems to be working well. I do with that the registration information had been a little better, but I did OK.

And the photo download easier to understand and a little bit bigger SSD, and battery. But, thus far, its super.
